swastikpanda2
Dhoni presently averages 50.24 in ODI with 10150 runs from 280 innings out of which he had stayed not out in 78 innings. If Dhoni scores 150 in his next 5 innings. (Assuming he scores around 30 which looks unlikely because of his poor batting form) he will then average 49.75 i.e, below 50. So There is a very high chance that the desire of playing 2019 WC is going to make a dent on his ATG (above 50 average.) His Odi legacy might also be questioned in future. Looking how Dhoni had resigned and retired, Don't be surprised if he retires during this WI Odi series. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
zen
He should retire before the avg dips below 50 as in ODIs it is one of the highlights of his career UrmiSinhaRay, swastikpanda2 and Adi BB 1 2 Link to comment
SK_IH
He should really retire now.He shodnt embarrass himself any further. He disrupting the balance of the side single handedly. swastikpanda2, AuxiliA, UrmiSinhaRay and 1 other 1 3 Link to comment
diga
Dhoni must be averaging less than 30 with a s/r of less than 80 in the last 1 year... Is that a cause for concern or his career avg dipping below 50 UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

King Tendulkar
He is a selfish c*** This could be our best chance he quits Although he is a busssiness man only focused on making $$$. Jamadagni
Reading this, if you still don't want Dhoni to retire, you aren't a true Dhoni fan. There is every chance that his average will dip below 50, which is one of the indicators for greatness. Though not a big Dhoni fan, he deserves to average 50+. He is a true ATG in this format. I hope he retires gracefully after this series. AuxiliA, DHONI_FANN, UrmiSinhaRay and 1 other 1 3 Link to comment

Vilander
Really irritating to see him loose his legacy like this, exactly the same happened with Sachin average dropped and legacy got questioned. Unnecessary. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Although he was still our best batsman in that series vs Australia as long as the series was alive so I can understand why he carried on. The NZ series was the first time I realized the decline was terminal. Link to comment
Bigg Brother
There is nothing to cry about that He certainly isn't 50+ AVG player. Was able to inflate that average because of the not outs. He averages 37 in t20s which is huge for t20s but we know how good T20 player he is.. Despite doing jack in last 3 years,He was still averaging 52 few months ago. Link to comment
CSK Fan
We should be worried about his strike rate and not average. Even if he averages 50 in the next year, he will have zero impact with his 65 strike rate which he has in 2018 Link to comment
Straight Drive
The strike rate and average since 2017 is pathetic. What he did prior to 2017 has not helped us win matches since 2017. Link to comment
Zero_Unit
Very few desi players knows when to call it a quit on a high note. Sanga was one who left on a high note and was still good enough to play international cricket for the next couple of years - was still scoring runs. Link to comment
