Sanga played as a specialist batsman most of his career.  100 alone isnt a criteria for ATG for a WK.  Ajay Ratra has an overseas 100, he must be an ATG then?

But for an ATG for not having 100 across the format overseas is definitely a blot to be called as an ATG. BTW what so special about Dhoni in Test matches to consider him as an ATG, can you please clarify.

just off topic ( though i have stated before as well), on the highlighted ,  this is not due to inability but just a quirky fact

He played a significant amount of matches overseas and not just test so many odi as well. However leaving all aside how he is an ATG wk/batsmen in test. What about andy flower/Alec Stewart/ who has better average than dhoni.

my point is not regarding ATG status, in WK category only Gilly is an ATG and Dhoni is quite comparable ( better than many ) with other regular WKs who have played the game.

with regards to that gimmick of no 100s overseas, i repeat its not on ability.

I would have agreed to you has it been  any particular country and not all countries outside asia.

At Rahim's age, Dhongi was a crap as a Test batsman. He boosted his stats playing on absolute roads, bashing hapless spinners. Rahim is at his peak now and will overtake Dhoni interms of stats by the end of his career.

Dhongi was a FTB,nothing more than that, his only match winning innings was his double against Aussies in 2013

I think this is a fair comparison ,comparing him with bd wk who is better than dhongi but still plays mostly minnows, comparing dhongi with wks from top nations is an insult to them

Keeping wise there are few who can rival Dhoni even with his current form. His keeping skills are out of this world. You must be blind if you say otherwise. However in the TEST batting department it's a different story. Bangladesh is known to throw their players in international arena without proper grooming. I would be curious to know how Rahim did after he matured his batting. Big difference in avg?

What legend with 35 AVG and no century in non Asian condition. He is cipher among zero in Indian keeper batsmen btw pant already have an overseas century in test.

Who said Wk  needs to score century in non Asian conditions to be called as legend. He batted mostly at no7 and 6 hundreds is perfectly fine at that position. He is no Adam Gilchrist or Andy Flower but he better than everyone else.
