Sam Curran what an all rounder

This guy has been amazing, he was the difference between India drawing England series versus the drubbing we got there.

Unlike our guy this guy scores when his team needs runs.He is very underrated than our overrated guy who other than his fluke 90 rarely shows up when his team needs his runs.

He is just 20 and he has so much more potential.

That’s what I expected from Pandya but to me he doesn’t have the technique of Sam .

Pandya has a better technique than Sam but Sam goes for his shots.  He does not hold back.  He likes to counter attack.  Pandya too got his only 50 in a game in England where he counter attacked.

What's the basis of this technique comment.I mean he has not shown any so far and he averages early 30 in First class ckt

Today Rashid was outscoring Curran at one point and Curran iirc was 10 of 40- 50 balls, so there is more to his game than just counter attack

Let's see how Sam Curran does when he comes to India.  Odds are he won't even make the XI due to his bowling being rendered toothless.

Full credit to Curran, he put up some legit quality performances against the #1 test team in cricket.  But he was playing at home.  Pandya also has stud performances with the bat in home conditions - India & SL.

And Pandya's 5-fer notwithstanding, he's nowhere near as effective with the ball as Curran was in English conditions.

Pandya's technique may not be textbook, but isn't exactly terrible either.  I'm sure you can find videos of him playing a straight drive or cover drive and see for yourself.  He's got a decent enough technique.  But is inexperienced.  I just hope he doesn't end up going the Jadeja route with the bat - Jadeja wasted 3-4 years before he figured out what his effective batting method was - in terms of shot selection.  Because a Jaddu can afford to do that and still be in the team based on his bowing.  Pandya needs to basically hold a place down as #6 batsman.  The bar is a lot higher.

This thread was opened after his performance in Srilanka

That is because England doesn’t have to “force” a guy to play in the team as an allrounder just for the sake of it. They have Stokes,Woakes and Ali.

In fact they have a totally opposite  problem. Too many allrounders than specialists.

Woakes is poor mans' Bhuvi who gets to play bulk of his cricket in helpful conditions.  I'd rather have either of Ash or Jaddu over Ali anyday.

Stokes & Pandya? :)  That reminds me our little "meet cute" here on ICF.
