Players getting dropped after good performance and selected without performance

Recommended Posts

Karun Nair scored triple century. Struggled in 4 innings, got dropped for Rahane who went missing on spinning tracks.

KL Rahul scored 61, 89 and 4 only to be dropped from first match of Nidahas trophy.

Bhuvneswar Kumar took 4 wickets in first test in SA and was dropped from 2nd test.

Cheteswar Pujara scored a match winning half century on tough pitch in 3rd test in SA and was dropped from 1st test in England (a test where we needed someone to just stay there for an hour or so). Later he was proved to be 2nd best batsman of series.

Kohli doesn't have the slightest idea of developing players or giving confidence to in-form players. With bowlers atleast they have chance to comeback after bad spells, with batting this confidence crisis clearly shows as a batsman needs just one indecisive shot to get out. The batting slump we are seeing is clearly due to this confidence crisis, it is always at the back of batsmen mind that there is a sword dangling over their head.

Batsmen are to be blamed as well to let it affect their game, but as I said it takes just one indecisive shot to get out and there is no coming back.

Sam Curran was dropped after a match-winning performance in the first test for Woakes, but it didn't affect him whatsoever in his next tests, where he played equally well. This confidence crisis and all this is bullshit, just accept our batsmen are spineless, gutless...and move on.

They lost one match in absence of Curran.

He was still new to the international Cricket and they rectified their mistake by bringing him back in the next Test match. Now he is their first choice seamer ahead of Broad. Where as in Indian cricket, Nair had to make way for struggling Rahane and didn't get a second look for a long time. The same thing is happening with Siraj. He is our in-form domestic bowler and they have failed to make use of his form. He will most likely be selected when he is low on confidence and round and round we go. Kohli and Shastri are both useless.

Almost like being selected after 1 test is different from being dropped permanently like Nair or for a long time like other players
