Whatever matches India has lost in SA and Eng, and if India loses in Australia, its got to be solely due to the inability of the batsmen. The bowlers have performed really well. No blame can be put on the bowlers.

i think all 3 bowlers are inconsistent. Regarding batsman , both Rahane and Pujara both have been dropped in test matches during last 2 tours and they will also be evaluated based on this tour.

Lets be realistic. I know there are some senior posters here who have the romanticized ideas that a bowler should go and take 6 wickets in 6 balls. It doesnt work like that. Test matches and performances work more ( for the lack of any better example ) like a sine wave. You got to give time to your players in a match.

The bowlers have performed exceptionally well. Theres a reason why all the foreign commentators are talking about Indian bowlers. Some of them have called them close to No1 bowling unit.

Please do not have unrealistic expectations.

Its the batsmen and the hack of an allrounder which is to be blamed. Not the bowlers.

Batsmen were skinned alive on those tours,

Bowlers did their part,we really know that the current set of batsmen in the team are incompetent which makes us crave way more from the bowlers ,to have a shot at a  low target,in the hindsight actually we are not sure about our chances vested on our paper tigers(the batsmen)

I agree with OP. We can't develop new players if we retread the same old ones over and over. If these bowlers fail this series in Aus and then in NZ, we should phase out at least 2 of them. We will most probably play only 2 pacers at home and 3 away. A new player therefore needs chances overseas.

It should be

Bumrah

Prospect

at home

and

Bumrah

Prospect

Best of the remaining

After the prospect is established, we can replace another bowler.

Why should these set of bowlers, who are the strongest we have had as a group, should be discarded because our batsmen are inept.

Look at last 3 years, our bowling unit has conceded 500 in one single innings (out of 70 innings they have bowled in). Conceded 300+ only in 15 innings (5 400+ totals) out of these 70 innings. Thats as good as you'd want them to be. All of them are 28-30 years old and all have a good 3-4 years left in them as none of them have been over bowled.

Yes, we should groom younger pacers by rotating these seniors but to discard them after one series in Aus will be discriminatory.
