Kohli's success as a batsman is based on repeatedly doing what works well without any deviation in script. But captaincy is a different ball game and there's many variables that you need to deal with. You can't go by rote and expect the script to play out per your wishes.

Kohli hasn't got the intelligence or the street smarts to be an innovative captain. He comes across as rather dim.

 

If anything he is even more Process>Results than Dhoni.
