Mithali was a slow scorer and yet won 2 MoM awards?

Mandhana averages 22 in T20s at a SR of 114 and she is calling Mithali as slow! Becuase she played a couple of good knocks, she should not publicly run out an ATG in women's cricket.

Funniest this is these guys keep saying the keeper Taniya Bhatia had great intent so we decided to stick to her. She averages 10 at less than run a ball. But hey she has great intent so lets bench someone who scored 2 back to back 50s in matches we easily won!

Whats the fuss about leaving Mithali out in T20s. Ind women cricket want to move on and change their strategy in T20s cricket, whats the harm. Too much has been made about twin 50s of Mithali but the facts is both were against hapless opposition. Even she had not played Ind would have won. Ind should adapt the new power game that teams like Aus and Eng play in T20 cricket if they want to develop further and I thought they wanted to move in that direction in this tournament.

Th only blunder made by Indian TM was  making her open after the 1st game, she should never have played a game if they wanted to move on from Mithali. Dhoni dropped Veeru in WT20 in 2012 and less hue and cry was made.

This is strictly about cricketing reasons, i dont know what happened in the background.

Agree with this. In addition her fitness levels are not good enough. she probably would fit in middle order as we still have some weak bats in the line up. But Powar has bought good intent in the team and needs to carry on. Kaur and Mandhana have played league at the top levels and their word is important

By replacing someone whose strike rate is 102-103 with someone who strikes it at 95? Pick a younger deserving player, absolutely, but Tanya Bhatiya (or for that matter any other younger player other than Kaur, Mandhana and Rodrigues) for Mithali reeks of bias and personal grudges. Also, who changes their strategy suddenly for the WC semi final.

They defeated the eventual champions with the same strategy just a game before, so no they didnt suddenly change their strategy. Infact they shouldnt have abandoned their approach after the win against NZ.

That is stupid because it did not consider the condition of pitch etc. We might suddenly win after resting Kohli and Bumrah but that doesnt mean it wasnt still stupid to drop them and it wont cost the team eventually. Having a stable batsman in big games was exactly what was needed. You cannot rely on inexperienced players to suddenly deliver in semis and finals, look at Bumrah in CT final

dont make it sound like Mithali would have won the game if she had played

The problem with Indian women's cricket team is that they have a mental block in must win  games v Aus and England two teams you have to beat to win anything. Mostly you will face one in the semi and will always face one in the final.

Mithali or no Mithli this has always been the case. In 2017 India choked in a royal manner in the final from a winning position. From 200/5 to 219 all out. A win which in all probability should have been ours and changed the way women's cricket was viewed was lost.

Mentally weak. Solve that and everything else will fall in place.

Get in players who can hack it in pressure situations. Raj like it or not represents an era of a mental block. She has served Indian cricket well. Taking india from poor performers to challenging Aus and England. Need fresh blood and thinking to win cups.

and its not just women's cricket.

Have noticed this in the Olympics where our atheles while winning gold medals in world championship events just mentally fall away

A trait that runs through Indian sport or even Indian society.

Its exactly why MSD despite all his flaws must be rated highly. In a country of bottlers he was mentally strong to guide his team to silverware.
