Karnataka and Mumbai Lobby selections without performance

Some also add Rahane to Mumbai lobby list. But honestly it's not the case. Team management just rate him highly based on past exploits. Tbh even Rohit and Rahul are not due to lobby's but due to weird obsession in showing trust in their abilities. Lobby is just over used on this forum. The only lobby players recently are Shardul and Axar.

Ajinkya Rahane at least had peak in career and fabulous overseas record.  He is on decline after giving ayleast few good years. What have Rohit and Rahul achieved.

Rohit has no business being in team. Unfortunately management is fool enough to mix up format and ever optimistic that Rohit will replicate his ODI exploits in tests too which is absurd.

Rahane somehow managed to play half decent innings to buy some more time whenever he is on verge of getting dropped.

Rahul has age on his side and getting chances based on potential. This is his series before getting dropped. If he manages to do good he will stay or he will be dropped.

Agree on Rohit.

Regarding Rahul, he may be just 26 but we have to see how many tests he has played rather than how aged he is and what is his performance.  Potential etc is fine till 20 odd test but he or anyone else can't keep underperforming for 30 tests. He should have been dropped for this series. But then he is given one more chance and this test too he has scored 46 runs in two innings. Again below par contribution expected from specialist batsman. Is it that a batsman has to fail 50 tests and then only he can be dropped.

They have but at different times. Currently his ODI exploits are making people blind. Even Kumble, before the series, said Rohit has improved jis technique a lot. So where is the improvement ? He is ttf in tests. It's a case of massive over rating and mixing up formats.

But he was one of the main reasons we lost in SA. We knew even before the start of the series what to expect from him. That's what I am highlighting about here.

Can you pls explain why rohit is fair?

what has he done in last few years to deserve a test match selection

He can put runs on board. He will outperform both Vijay and Rahul. I have no problem if management wants to try a new player as long as the drop order is: Vijay, rahul and then Rohit.

To marta kyun nhin

He is not competing for their spot , if they dnt shaw mayank will take their place

Rohit has nothing to do with them . He has clearly given a place for a performer vihari which was unfair

You missed my point. If change has to be made then other two need to go before he does.

So ur telling a guy who scored a 100 in england shud be dropped ahead of guy who never scored a 100 outside India in test and rahul made more runs then rohit in this test

Start with Vijay first. Bringing his name up does not suit your agenda and Rahul is hit and miss.

I have no agenda, m not stupid that i compare guys who have done something in test to someone who hasnt

well vijay has a past n went back n scored runs in county n practice game to earn his place back

rohit didnt even play red ball

Vijay if fails next game will be out forever

Atleast rahul hits some day , tell me when does rohit hit .So my question was how are u saying rohit shud be given more chance...what has he done??? ball is in ur court tell me what has rohit done

It is disappointing to see that players from lesser teams are not getting backing or do not have as strong a lobby. Is this a fair captain, are the selectors doing a fair job? Why are they allowed to pick freeloaders while performers from lesser zones / teams not making playing 11 and in some cases not even squads. There are brilliant performers like Siraj and Vihari in FC who have excelled in FC and List A but they still continue to be ignored. Why isn't Vihari in playing 11 ahead of Rohit. Agree that lobbying is bad but wish if Hyderabad had as strong a lobby like Mumbai and Karnataka. It's tough to break into playing 11 without support more often than not if the players are from some lesser teams.

its not about zones, its about pref to a particular player

Rohit sharma is pref coz he is rohit sharma not coz he is from mumbai

Nair was snubbed for Rohit who was from karnataka

If rahul or vijay wud be dropped a karnataka player mayank will take their place (usko tum hi log fair bologe)

Siraj is overlooked coz they dnt wanna have the same core not becoz of his zone . Dont make it about zones coz its not. These states have strong teams so player do come of them

Its rayudu who is pref in odi not iyer from mumbai

Umesh is from vidarbha what strong lobby is that

Why isnt Saini in team who is from delhi????

Let me tell you exactly what he has done.

In this match he has scored almost as much as Rahul and more than Vijay.
