Kohli sucks at picking the team

Seriously....going with 4 bowlers and then picks BOTH of Rohit and Rahane, leaving out Vihari, the ONLY guy in the top order who bowls as a change-up bowler regularly ?!?

Kohli is showing one dimensional captaincy with his batting lineup and his attitude is a good example of why a great player doesn't necessarily make a good leader - he does NOT understand, that test cricket is a place where slow batmsen can and DO thrive if they have a solid defensive technique. Vihari has a better defensive technique than either Rahane or Sharma and can get away with playing slowly much more often.

He sucks at everything except batting. The mirror image of Waqar Younis. Autistic savant.

So, you play a player ahead of a failed test reject in practise match and he scores higher than that test reject (infact was not even out in 1st innings as given a howler and not out in 2nd innings). Also that player can bowl some handy overs and infact took 3 top order wickets in previous test. Seems like a perfect no.6 given only 4 bowlers. And then you forget all that, as if the memory gets wiped overnight and play the test reject.

So Kohli keeps playing players like Rahul and Rahane when they are not in form, but kept dropping them when they were in form earlier. So, he will never back in-form players but will back out of form and test rejects.

Although I am not surprised given it’s Kohli, I am also not sure if he will ever learn. No other option than to replace him, else the team will have a slow death with no youngsters being developed in any format.

Gambhir retired a little too early, should have waited for Kohli to give him the SOS to replace Shaw in test team.

I think they should drop KL rahul. Just to instill a sense of urgency and see if he can go back to domestics and be prolific.

Open with mayank and Pujara. We dont have any other opening bats , so will need to live with this arrangement . Make rahane come one down, kohli and buhari to follow, rohit, pant, ashwin, bumrah and other 2 bowlers.

And keep rahane and rohit on notice . Let us see who performs and they will be our number 5.

wah kya ideas hai

mujhe achanak kohli ke ideas ache lagne lage

Don’t be shocked if it happens, if Kohli can bring back long discarded players like Nehra, Yuvraj, Gambhir, etc. he can do same with Dhoni. He has also got Dhawan previously to replace Vijay and Rahul, so definitely can happen again. And replacing Jadeja by Ashwin is actually a good idea, so Kohli will not even get that idea.
