If these guys (many of them are considered as SENA specialists) do not do well, will the selectors and team management (Kohli and Shastri) take accountability of bad decisions / selections to resign from their respective posts? The simple answer to your question (in bold) is: No. They will keep selecting players who are either horribly out of form (e.g. Vijay and Rahane), or simply lack the requisite skills to handle SENA conditions (e.g. Dhawan and Rohit). We can't do much about Shaw, but there are a number of players like Agarwal and Vihari who should have been in the mix. In the WI tour at home, I'd like to have seen both of them get a run as well as the likes of Nair, Gill, etc. Even in Ind A, the non-selection of Panchal and the preference of Samarth has been rather baffling to me. One thing that I find interesting is that VK's own average is not "high" per se; I think he has been getting out rather cheaply over the past 2-3 innings in Eng and Oz. I know that he is the least of our problems, but I am a bit concerned that the success has been going to his head, and we may see his batting nosedive in this series. Link to comment
zen
I also wish that Saha were available for this series. He is the best WK for us and someone who can curb his instincts to play as per the situation Link to comment

With this said, he would always be my No.1 pick purely for his keeping, especially after looking at Pant's clumsy "keeping". Temujin Khaghan 1 Link to comment

mancalledsting
vijay is not test opener class for SENA, the way he doesn't get fully onto the front foot and just plants his heels is a red line for me. Can't wait for Shaw to come back. Link to comment

Numbers in SENA, where we have played 9 tests in the past 2 years: Shambolic that only two batsmen are averaging over 30. The rest below 27. Vijay being the worst averaging 12.63. Not even a single 50. a) Top Order Top order gave disgraceful performances with averages of 12.63, 19.40 and 22.06 by Vijay, Dhawan and Rahul respectively. b) Middle order Apart from Kohli, everyone averages below 27. But then the crap show by top order they are made to look relatively better. Link to comment
