If a captain can be dropped for his captaincy

Our batting is what needs to be blamed and not captaincy.

Bowling changes were fine, playing Ashwin was crap. He did finenin first innings and that is what is going to make sure he keep his place and that is what sucks.

Captaincy neither won us nor lost. It was our pathetic batting in 2nd inning which cost us this game almost. We should have gotten a bigger lead which we did not.

There were many time when kohli's pathetic captaincy lost to win small moments and then in end you loose match and series.

You are too picky. All captains make changes when needed. Its easy to sit in front of key oars and talk about captains all day and their moves.

I would say his team selection is wrong and move on.

You guys feel fielders need to be everywhere when you know we are defending low total. No womder we are here and they are there .

Yes, our bowling like we dis today won’t have been enough ahainst South Africa or England. Had we bowled this to them, we would have lost it today.

We would have lost because we threw our wickets away in both innings. I wouldnt blame our bowling that much on a relatively flat surface. We could have closed out the match in the 3rd innings and still had enough overs to bowl Aussies out

reactive captaincy .... gave easy singles away esp to lower order (not making them go over the top) .... relatively less men in catching position even when a #11 is batting .... ....

You are naive to think Aussie tailenders will throw away like our Shami and co will do. These guys just saved a brilliant test match against Pakistani spin bowling attack in alien conditions. Only Starc was supposed to plau his shots which he kind of did but they were never going to play as many arial shorts as you would want. Yes odd fielder here and there one can argue for, but field set was fine for Starc as we need fielder for him on the boundary.

And regarding other tailenders, as soon as Lyon or anyone came including Cummins to Ashwin, fielders were mostly inside.

Did you see how many edges went through vacant slip and gully region? Aussies would have put umbrella field soon as Hazlewood came into bat but he was taking easy singles through third man.

Umbrella is needed in swinging conditons. Our bowlers barring Bumrah bowled crap so 2-3 slips were fine and a gully.

They were trying to bowl fuller and going for lbw’s rather than going for ourside edge and if you see the pitch map, no one really tried going for outside off ball barring few. They bowled our of plan.

So we need to understand what the plan was and based on what they bowled the field set is usually set.

Like Sharma and Shami and Bumrah bowled decent amount of short ones today and both got rewarded. So unless the plan was to go for

Edges, field sets were set based on bowling plans.

Our bowling plan must be told. I did not see much outside off stump balls which are ideal to get slip fielders in play. We were foing for

fill or short balls and on one end we had a Ashwin all day which was pathetic.

Jadeja would have closed this game earlier.
