I think Umesh should have started the bowling. He is the only one who is getting some kind of swing. With tentative openers he could have cashed in. Tactical error. ALl is not lost. It is just a true wicket

Lol the definition of madness is doing the same thing again and again and expecting different results. One of the most inconsistent bowlers in history needs to open?

Bhuvi should have played. India will now get only 5-10 runs from their #8-#11.

He did bowl atleast one beauty in each over. Bumrah looked a little off color.

But will get bounce. And day4-5 pitch breaks here at this new venue. That is more dangerous.

His strength is accuracy. Landing the ball at the same place. Lyon's success will be more due to our ineptness against offies these days. Be it is Moeen Ali or Lyon we don't have the technique to dominate them. We just go into shell and get out eventually.

Bhuvi is not exactly Irfan Pathan. He could at best make like 20 runs. His bowling would have been very harmless on this deck.

This is not your typical pace and bounce WACA. Bhuvi would have been great on this pitch IMO. YEs Bhuvi isn't a proper batsman but you can't go with 4 genuine tail enders these days. You need guys like Bhuvi or Ashwin who can stick around with a top order batsman and give you a 50 runs partnership. None of these 4 can do that.

Ashwin is almost like a proper test batsman. Bhuvi hasn't reached that level yet. He can sure hang around.

Well Ashwin wasn't available. But Bhuvi's selection was a no brainer as far as I am concerned. This is also looking like a line and length pitch. Bad team selection, reminds me of the second test against SA when they dropped Bhuvi for no reason.

Haan and need to remember the runs scored by Bhuvi in both innings.

We should never get into a situation where we depend on Bhuvi. If that keeps happening we are never going to win Test series in these parts. Sure they can help add 50 runs. But if the opposition piles up 500 runs it hardly matters.
