zen
I understand that we have limited options but this guy has mostly been riding his luck throwing his bat around. Has done nothing much in this test and with Pujara and Kohli gone cheaply had the opportunity to at least make his "aggressive intent" count but came a cropper Or are we expecting too much from him? I understand we have limited option but to make a point, should Rahane be dropped for Sydney? Ind 28/4 Cummins to Rahane, OUT, he's taken down leg side! What is happening here! Cummins has bowled better deliveries for wickets, that's for sure. But he'll take these. And why not, he probably deserved eight in the first innings. Short of a length and down leg side. Rahane looks to shovel it fine, with a horizontal bat, and gets a thin edge. Dips on Paine, but he lunges to his left and holds on AM Rahane c †Paine b Cummins 1 (2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00 Vihari, I understand is new and could develop, but atm appears like a fish out of water .... his bowling could be useful at Sydney .... thoughts? Cummins to Vihari, OUT, Vihari has been bounced out by Cummins for the second time in the match. Nasty short ball, 141.2ks, climbs on off, gets too big on Vihari. He lobs it off the shoulder of the bat to Usman Khawaja at gully GH Vihari c Khawaja b Cummins 13 (45b 1x4 0x6) SR: 28.88 Rohit as well in the 2nd inning. But scored a 50 in the first .... Hazlewood to RG Sharma, OUT, taken at slip! Hazlewood dangles it in the corridor for Rohit, he takes it on and he's dismissed. Short ball. He'd argue it was there for the cut, but it's rising up at him and he can't control the slash as a result. Was perhaps too close for the shot anyway RG Sharma c SE Marsh b Hazlewood 5 (18b 0x4 0x6) SR: 27.77 it is difficult to play all 3 in the 11 .... SecondSlip
Vihari is not an opener. Play him at #5 or #6 and he will do much better. mishra, Khota, velu and 3 others 1 5 Link to comment
zen
Rohit as well in the 2nd inning. Though scored a 50 in the first .... poll added Link to comment
velu
vihari is our sacrifical goat in this test for us.. but his weakness vs short stuff is clearly exposed here .. need to work on it rahane being rahane here .. rohit well , he looked comfortable in the 1st innings Link to comment

Straight Drive
With scoreline very likely to be 2-1 in India's favour the think tank will say in PC we will rearing same team unless for injuries. velu 1 Link to comment
bowl_out
Get Ashwin in place of Vihari and open with Pujara. Link to comment

True but a bit dangerous to play all 3 in the 11 (something that the opponent would prefer. would we not prefer to bowl vs a line up having these 3) Link to comment
rtmohanlal
Rohit - shouldn't have selected Rahane - really disappointed. The Sydney test should be his last chance. Vihari - deserves chances in middle order. He is only a make shift opener Kothili and velu 2 Link to comment
Nikola
No vihari won't be dropped. Rahane is vice captain & Rohit should be dropped but that won't happen so most likely we will go with same xi for next test. Link to comment
Khota
All three should play. This was an excellent team they picked win or lose. Ridgepi 1 Link to comment
wanted_desi
Vihari will be dropped probably as he got some weakness he needs to work on. However, i would trust Ashwin as opener than Vihari, Rohit, Vijay and KL Rahul. Link to comment

coffee_rules
If we win, same team..it has balance, Vihari gets to bowl as a spare spinner and Rohit's myth of changing the game in a session still gets tested and will be settled one way or the other. Link to comment

sandeep
Make Rohit open, get Ashwin in place of Vihari. As much as I hate to bench Vihari on the back of making him open. But with 2 fulltime spinners, the need for his bowling doesn't exist, and he has shown he cant handle short stuff. Link to comment

zen
@maniac Is Rohit a lucky mascot? Played in 2 tests, one Ind won, here Ind is in a winning position? Link to comment
