GolGappe
Saw this article on rediff where BCCI is thinking about promoting Pujara to A+ contract category. This is a top tier which pays 7 crore per year. Also noticed Dhawan in that category. I don't know how he ended up there. Primary Skill - Batting Test Cricket: Below Average ODIs: Really good. T20: Above average Secondary Skills Bowling: Non existent Fielding: Safe out fielder Leadership/Captaincy potential: None Kohli deserves to be in top tier. Bhuvneshwar has had injury troubles but I don't have any issues with him being there. Rohit has no business in this category either. I am sure Bumrah will get into top tier and deservedly so. zen
I guess that they included key players who play in all formats. It should be ratified based on who the key players are per format (Tests and LOIs) Real McCoy 1 Link to comment

I am not claiming that either of them deserve by themselves, but if a player is considered valuable based on absolute performance in one format (like Pujara in tests), the other two can also stake claim! beetle, Real McCoy, Soumo and 1 other 1 3 Link to comment

Jamadagni
Dhawan and Rohit deserve to be in A+ more than Pujara as the former two contribute to BCCI's revenues much more than than latter. Link to comment

I'm not sure about his category, but Rohit and Dhawan are gun ODI bats and quite clutch in WCs too. I have never been happy with a score of 40/0 after 10 but with these two, I know they will make up for it. With these two spending time in the middle, it relaxes the pressure on Kohli and the middle order. It also makes me relax unlike the 90s when we would choke under pressure. Link to comment

Bigg Brother
Dhawan and Rohit were both hot property back in 2013..Dhawan scoring Hundred in debut test and then golden bat in CT2013..Same with Sharmaji, reincarnation in CT and then debut 100 against WI.. Still think both deserve to be in A+ category.although BCCI should start putting test specialists more in A+..Sends a good message. Link to comment

Chandan
https://goo.gl/tZWa9i After the revised pay structure approved in 2018, A-plus category players get Rs 7 crore per year, while those in the A category, to which Pujara currently belongs, get Rs 5 crore. The B and C category players get Rs 3 crore and Rs 1 crore respectively. The A-Plus category comprises skipper Kohli, his limited-overs deputy Rohit Sharma, all-format pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar, and senior opener Shikhar Dhawan. ........... While there is a school of thought that the A-Plus category should be reserved for all-format performers, opener Dhawan is no longer a certainty in the longest format in the coming days, with the emergence of Prithvi Shaw and Mayank Agarwal, along with KL Rahul in the mix. The central contract could see another course correction with Rishabh Pant, now the first-choice keeper in Tests, being reinstated in the system after being dropped for the current financial year. __________________________ My Question is, how is Rohit considered an all format player? velu
dhawan is a proven performer in ODIs and doing well in T20s now as well.. dhawan deserves it .. if punjara is unfairly given lower contract , it doesnt mean dhawan doesnt deserve his A+.. Link to comment
