Trichromatic
Team was down with match fixing scandal, there was too much uncertainity and struggle and team was full of talented potential ATGs who were short on confidence and lacked self belief to win overseas. At that we didn't need a tactician, we needed a leader who could lift the team from depth and achieve success. Dada suited that role perfectly. Once we established the team, got the consistently, we needed better tactician to expand overseas success, we got Dravid. Needed transition, got Kumble's experienced hands for to hold the team. After that it was team full proven greats who just didn't need someone to tell them what to do. They just needed one guy who could just remain and bring them to top. Dhoni did it. Dhoni also didn't leave the team and saw the transition from greats to new crop. Results weren't good, but he didn't abondon the team. Now team has talent, there is a system producing good fast bowlers, needed a passionate fired up captain backing them and seeing new phase of Indian cricket. Despite other flaws, Kohli has fit this role perfectly. India has been blessed to find right person at right time. flamy and rkt.india 2 Link to comment

Number
Except Dhoni. The worst test captain who took the team backwards to 80s and ruined all the good work of Ganguly Dravid Kumble. Link to comment
