ShoonyaSifar
9 days to go before the series starts, no signs of the A squad yet. Does the BCCI even remember they have a series coming up? UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

tweaker
The Selection Committee picked this team for the two one-day warm-up games that will be played in on January 18 and 20 in Thiruvananthapuram. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment
tweaker
While selecting the side only those players who had no commitment during the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals were considered. The BCCI in a statement mentioned that “the players involved in the Ranji Trophy quarterfinals have not been taken into consideration for selection.” UrmiSinhaRay and express bowling 1 1 Link to comment

Probably they are local to where the game is being played? Usually BP XI doesn't necessarily have the best players, spreads the opportunity to face touring sides a bit. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Keep in mind that Eng Lions will play a bunch of games. Its BCCI's job to spread the opportunity around a bit, especially when hosting such games that don't matter as much. Sometimes a young guy who doesn't necessarily deserve a game at that point plays against quality tourists and has a wake-up call about what he needs to do. And besides, when India "A" goes on tour, or even our national team, host boards often give us warm-up games with really soft club level teams. No need to do Eng a favor by giving them best in class opposition for all the games. Doubt they did that when India "A" toured England. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Hell Raiser
Good to see the name of Tushar Deshpande. He is a very good upcoming talent and needs to be groomed properly. Thank god they didn't pick Dhawal Kulkarni. Now hope Avesh and Deshapande makes it to India A team as well along with Nathu Singh. These three bowling together in a match will be a some sight. UP is playing QF's, so, Rinku and Priyam wont be available. Sidhu, it was first season, so isnt there. Patidar has a list A average of 44 with an SR of 103. Himmat has a list A average of 63 Edited January 16, 2019 by rkt.india UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

express bowling
After watching Shivam Mavi bowl yesterday in Ranji QF, it is clear that he is ready for the India-A team for the Unofficial tests. The temperament and ability that he showed while setting up a top international batsman like Pujara, and dismissing him eventually, was awesome. In the olden days, express bowlers of all countries usually used to be wayward during their early years. But Mavi was putting such a high percentage of deliveries in the right areas while moving the ball at high pace. This is so commendable. Perhaps a result of playing quite a few U19 tests under the guidance of Dravid and Mhambrey. He maybe a young bowler but not a rookie. Special talents need to fast tracked ... the selectors have done a good job regarding this aspect as far as Pant, Shaw and Gill are concerned. Now, it is their time to do the same regarding Mavi ( and Nagarkoti when fit ). Sgattick10, flamy, Samcric and 1 other 4 Link to comment
fineleg
Well Nagarkoti when fit has to prove himself all over again. This seems to be a career threatening injury for Nagarkoti spanning a really long long time. He has to build himself up to the right skills and match fitness all over again. Good wishes to Mavi and Nagarkoti. BrantFUGH 1 Link to comment
