Lions 60/4 in the 4th List A match. Thakur 2 wickets, Avesh and Chahar 1 each

Pant, Rituraj Gaikwad, RIcky Bhui, Avesh and  Rahul Chahar playing today.

Lions have been thoroughly dominated. Could be the pitch but never seen such below par performance by a Lions side

Weak batting line today for India A.

Shardul 4/49. Not fading away so soon. Has made a good comeback after the injury during Asia Cup. 8 wickets in Ranji and now 7 wickets in this series.

Shardul is still better than Kaul, Chahar and Unadkat. At least he is a proper fast-medium bowler unlike these 3 trundlers.

If he weren't so short, he could have been a decent option.  (  Short bowlers need to have  very high accuracy and preferably have extra pace,  and Shardul has neither  ).

Cool finish by Pant. Took his time and then kills the chase in an over. Amazing signs

Very good exposure to Pant to stay long and finish the game. If he can just do the same 3- 4 times then he will have template to success in one dayers and we will have a very a dangerous MO bat " who can also up the ante whenever required.

Has already done this multiple times for India A in crucial chases. Remember a tri series final in England, scored a 65-70 not out to see us through in a tough chase

He had couple of such scenarios in WI & Aus, series. Could not grab those. That would have been the clincher.

Where is the old wine bottle Thala and youthful panther chinna thala in your line up. They are the first names on world cup team sheet even before Kohli.

Eng Lions won. but well fought Ind A

Pitches need to be better for the unoffiicial Test matches. Reading some reports there has been far too much of uneven bounce. Only saving grace, they have not been flat pattas with nothing for bowlers.

Spinners got us back into the game, picking up 5/27 in 10 middle overs but then what do they know.

pacers also picked 4 of them.  Spinners 5/65, pacers 4/58.  Its a common wisdom to bowl pace when opposition needing few runs and #11 is batting on an uneven pitch.

Spinners were picking those wickets when Eng A were running away with the match at 87-4. Spinners can take wickets number 5 to 9  for 27 runs but then suddenly spinners become useless because number 11 came to bat!

Lions were running away with the game that because spinners could not pick up up wickets after early burst by pacers and pacers didn't get to bowl after early bursts.  There is no thumb rule but what the captain do was change the pace of the ball from one end.
