Test

0-6* in RSA soon to be 0-7 ...may it surpass their 14 match ODI losing streak against same opponent in 90s

0-2 in NZ....also had a long ODI losing streak against them, 0-12 :cantstop: before they won a match in the recent UAE ODI series :phehe:

In Southern Hemisphere 0-10 soon to be 0-11, can't even make a draw :aetsch:

72 years, ZERO test series wins in Australia

ZERO drawn test series in Australia since 1978-79...40 years

27 years, ZERO test series wins in RSA

ZERO drawn test series in RSA since 1997-98...21 years

ZERO test series wins in England since 1996

ODIs, T20s

0-6 in WCs against Baap

0-4 in ODIs against Toygers

0-5 in WT20s against Baap

0-3 across formats in Asia Cup against Baap

WC drought since 1992...slightly off topic but that was also the last year they won an Olympic medal, largest country to win zero medals in 1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens, 2008 Beijing, 2012 London and 2016 Rio....sporting paawerhouse, beef eating monsters with best genes in the world :adore::adore::adore:

apart from eng, they suck majorly in SENA, i.e. basically in the southern hemisphere. terrible stats. this is the weakest SA team in a while. If we were playing this team, with ATG de Bruyn at no. 4 (instead of ABDV whom we faced), we could have won 2-1 quite easily.

I remember during their CT win against us, PadosiPassion which is usually monitored well had become wild and abusive towards Indians exposing the underbelly of the orcs that exist there. Speaking of passion of the padosis, this news story is worth looking into :hysterical:

Except a couple of series, they have largely struggled even in the West Indies. Won the last series there only because of a major brainfart by the WI number 11.

Pakistan's record in Australia is pathetic to say the least. They last won a test in 1995 (with Wasim, Waqar etc). Since then,

0-3 (1999)

0-3 (2004)

0-3 (2009)

0-3 (2016)

They will be playing a 2 match series next year that too on the west coast as the Aussies deem them undeserving of the blockbuster boxing day/ new year tests (will be against New Zealand).

I always find it funny when they claim some sort of superiority over India in general sporting terms such as stronger individuals. They had a superior cricket record for some time which has gone through it's course correction over more than a decade. Besides that, they can't hold a candle. Just look at CWG or Asian games, they are way behind  the medal tally. The last Asian games, they ended up sandwiched between Nepal & Afghanistan.

nepal is better than them in some aspects of cricket too. lamichhane is a better leggie than yasir shah in shorter formats (and maybe in test too).

when was the last time they drew a test down under? 1992?

They last drew a test there in 1989-90 series, avoided a whitewash but still lost the series 0-1 with Imran as captain and Javed, Wasim, Waqar etc in their team.

They last won a test in Australia in SCG 1995-96 (dead rubber at 0-2 down, they lost the series 1-2). Their last win there in a live rubber match was in 1978-79.

AB delighted to be playing in Pakistan

“I am delighted to confirm that I will represent Lahore Qalandars in front of our home crowds on 9 and 10 March, during the HBL PSL 2019,” de Villiers, announced as per PSL-t20.com. “I look forward to revisiting the Gaddafi Stadium and aim to play my part in helping Lahore Qalandars achieve something they have been aspiring for since the inception of this tournament in 2016,” he added.

Lahore will initiate their campaign against defending champions Islamabad United on March 9 in Dubai and take on Multan Sultans on the next day.

“I am fully aware that cricket is like a second religion in Pakistan. I still remember the support and appreciation we received in 2007. Furthermore, I feel I have a role to play in helping international cricket return to Pakistan. These have been some of the motivating factors for me to return to Lahore,” said de Villiers.

He is not the first South African international to be playing in Pakistan though. Earlier, national team skipper Faf du Plessis led the World XI side in the three-match T20I series against the hosts in Lahore. The team also had the likes of Hashim Amla, David Miller, Morne Morkel and Imran Tahir.

Sympathises with the people of Pakistan

“I sympathise with the people of Pakistan because they have been cricket-starved for no fault of theirs, but I am optimistic that the days are not too far when international cricket will return to Pakistan and the stadia will once again be packed with crowds.

“Due to prior family commitments, I will only be available till the last group stage game. I want to thank Lahore Qalandars for giving me an opportunity to represent them and I look forward to not only enjoying my time in the HBL PSL 2019 but also contributing in making it a stronger brand,” de Villiers said.

Lahore Qalandars’ owner Mr Fawad Rana was happy at the occasion and said: “There can’t be a bigger and better news for Pakistan cricket fans and the HBL PSL 2019 on the day we are celebrating ‘one month to go’ that AB de Villiers has confirmed his availability for the two Lahore matches.

“De Villiers is one of the icons of international cricket, who has entertained his fans world-over, not only with his innovative and aggressive batting, but also with the flare, passion and agility that he always carries with him onto the field of play.

“I am certain he will further brighten the Gaddafi Stadium with his amazing talent and skills on 9 and 10 March and this good news is a gift for our Qalandars clan.”

PCB chairman appreciates the decision

PCB Chairman Mr Ehsan Mani said: “We appreciate the decision of AB de Villiers and look forward to welcoming him to the home of Pakistan cricket. I am sure de Villiers’s appearance will attract new fans, and more eyeballs will follow the HBL PSL than ever before.

“I am confident that de Villiers’s decision at the back of his fellow World XI, Zimbabwe, Sri Lanka and the Windies’ cricketers’ decisions to play in Lahore will encourage other leading cricketers and international sides to visit this cricket-passionate country.

“For the Lahore crowds, it will be a great opportunity to watch this generation’s cricket genius live in action. I am sure they will turn up in great numbers to support de Villiers as well as Lahore Qalandars and their opponents.”

Lahore Qalandars captain Mohammad Hafeez said: “De Villiers is one of the most respected cricketers in the world. He is a proven performer, who has added new dimensions to batting in white-ball cricket.

“Not just me but the entire Lahore Qalandars side will wait eagerly for the unique experience of sharing with him a flight to Lahore and then being in the same team kit in front of what I envisage will be a packed house.

“This will again be an opportunity for the Lahore crowds to show their passion, respect, love and hospitality, and I am confident that AB will take home memories which will bring him back again and again to this beautiful piece of land,” he stated.

Yaar aaj kal hasi nahi aati watching Pak cricket team lose.

I'm afraid Pak team is going the same route WI went and Aus are going right now. Apart from Babar Azam's high quality batting, no player to watch out for.

In the 1990s beating Pak in Sharjah was as hard as beating 90s Australia side in Australia in an ODI game. So winning an ODI game at Sharjah against Pak was huge.
