I see the following weakness that will prevent this team from going beyond certain stage 

1) Rayudus slow batting and very poor fielding

2) Dhonis 80 strike rate batting

3) Kedar jadhavs fitness and terrible fielding

4) Lack of good off spinner in squad of 15.

5) Top 6 batters not bowling , if 1-2 main bowlers have off day.

6) poor fielding in general

7) Lack of left handers in top 6 except Dhawan.

8) Middle order unable to chase 300 + runs if top 3 fails ( weak middle order).

Pappu might be included in the ODI team in the near future to make Dhoni look good.

Dhoni can tuk tuk as long as Rayudu isn't there in the XI to take his tuk tuk share.. 

Kohli, Jadhav, DK, Pandya are all busy players with fairly good strike rates and ability to rotate strike..  As long as Rayudu isn't there, Dhoni can happily bide his time in the middle

We are not outright favourites by any stretch of the imagination. If tracks are all flat highways, there's only 1 favourite - England. If the tracks are a bit more sporting - ENG, IND, PAK, a full strength AUS, NZ , RSA will all be competitive and I expect windies to scare a couple of teams as well. Would be the most competitive world cup in recent times. SL would be the only team that will get beaten by everyone.

We have many weakness compared to england imo. We don't know how good hardik will perform after all the drama he went through. Middle order is pathetic and any decent side can stop run scoring against them. Lead bowler averages almost 50+ against top side. If opposition starts reading KulCha then things will get worse.

Hardik Pandya will have missed only 6 ODI's when he returns. He is a good player at least in ODI format imo, so 6 matches isn't going to be a big deal.

 

The problem is middle order and I agree with you on this point, but other teams too have weaknesses. So it's not going to be a let down considering the other opponents.

 

Regarding Yadav and Chahal, it's a positive. SENA players are playing cricket for over 100 years, yet they are unable to play spin well. Magic isn't going to happen in 3 months. These two will continue winning us more games than the odd bad matches they will have.

Only weak link is rayudu , and if he loses his form ( most probably he will ) ,  he will be repalced by DK which is a better option ( dhoni can move to #4 slot ) ..

Dhoni again trying to hit six , goes for single. Previous decade it used to go for six. Regressed too much. Living on reputation.

 

NZ Commentator said Dhoni would be intimidating factor in WC for opponents. Don't think I have heard as silly statement as that since MSK Prasad's statement.
