SecondSlip
India isn’t winning any trophy with Rayudu and Dhoni batting side-by-side at #4 & #5. Looks like @velu was talking about the IPL 2019 trophy when he made this thread! UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

vijay50
I see the following weakness that will prevent this team from going beyond certain stage 1) Rayudus slow batting and very poor fielding 2) Dhonis 80 strike rate batting 3) Kedar jadhavs fitness and terrible fielding 4) Lack of good off spinner in squad of 15. 5) Top 6 batters not bowling , if 1-2 main bowlers have off day. 6) poor fielding in general 7) Lack of left handers in top 6 except Dhawan. 8) Middle order unable to chase 300 + runs if top 3 fails ( weak middle order). This dhoni can win only when target is on an around 250. Also we don't have just one dud we have Rayadu as well. What disappointing is we could have thrashed everyone only if middle order holler could have avoided. With this team also we can reach to knockout but after that if top order fails and target is more than 270 we ll struggle. Just for an fyi, other teams are equally bad/worst off than us. Only team I can think of has everything going well for them is England. UrmiSinhaRay 1 Link to comment

Kohli, Jadhav, DK, Pandya are all busy players with fairly good strike rates and ability to rotate strike.. As long as Rayudu isn't there, Dhoni can happily bide his time in the middle Link to comment
flamy
lol, I don't expect Ind to win any knockouts. KulCha tend to be found out as a series progresses. Did you forget Eng series already? Plus, thermocol middle order. Adi BB 1 Link to comment
Nikhil_cric
We are not outright favourites by any stretch of the imagination. If tracks are all flat highways, there's only 1 favourite - England. If the tracks are a bit more sporting - ENG, IND, PAK, a full strength AUS, NZ , RSA will all be competitive and I expect windies to scare a couple of teams as well. Would be the most competitive world cup in recent times. SL would be the only team that will get beaten by everyone. Link to comment

We don't know how good hardik will perform after all the drama he went through. Middle order is pathetic and any decent side can stop run scoring against them. Lead bowler averages almost 50+ against top side. If opposition starts reading KulCha then things will get worse. Link to comment

He is a good player at least in ODI format imo, so 6 matches isn't going to be a big deal. The problem is middle order and I agree with you on this point, but other teams too have weaknesses. So it's not going to be a let down considering the other opponents. Regarding Yadav and Chahal, it's a positive. SENA players are playing cricket for over 100 years, yet they are unable to play spin well. Magic isn't going to happen in 3 months. These two will continue winning us more games than the odd bad matches they will have. Edited January 26, 2019 by Straight Drive Link to comment

Pitches will be mostly flat and considering the variety in our bowling attack ( esp spinners ) SENA teams will be having nightmares when they play against us. Our probable team which going to the wc:- 1) hitman 2) dhawan 3) kohli 4) rayudu 5) dhoni 6) jadhav 7) pandya 8) bhuvi/shami 9) kuldeep 10) bumrah 11) chahal Only weak link is rayudu , and if he loses his form ( most probably he will ) , he will be repalced by DK which is a better option ( dhoni can move to #4 slot ) .. Straight Drive
Dhoni again trying to hit six , goes for single. Previous decade it used to go for six. Regressed too much. Living on reputation. NZ Commentator said Dhoni would be intimidating factor in WC for opponents. Don't think I have heard as silly statement as that since MSK Prasad's statement. Link to comment
