Armchair experts have egg on their face once again Wasn't Kane supposed to be the best international captain according to these so called experts? And Kohli was supposed to be dogsh*t as a captain? Well, looks like sh*t captain has bageled the best international captain in the latter's own backyard Williamson reduced to whinging about the pitch mancalledsting 1 Link to comment

putrevus
Everyone was so clamoring about KW being best captain. Kohli is the best captain India ever had, they could have won in England too but they didn’t have Bumrah or Shami. Bhuvi was injured.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk velu, Number, Pratik77 and 1 other 4 Link to comment
G_B_
see there is different types of captains and man managements. Kumble Chappell etc are of the school of rigidity. They have the knowledge and they are right. velu and mancalledsting 2 Link to comment
mancalledsting
People hate Shastri because he is laissez faire and feel he doesn't oppose Kohli enough. With a highly motivated individual like Kohli, all you need to do is support him and be a mentor when required. You don't need an authoritarian headmaster type like Kumble as it will just be too many cooks spoiling the broth. Kumble would be a better coach for a Rahane type who will readily seek direction from his coach on many matters. Hence Shastri is perfect coach with Kohli at the helm. mancalledsting
The only downside of Shastri as coach is we get to miss his commentary gems: "Baang" "Like a tracer bullet" 'Sixx' G_B_ 1 Link to comment
putrevus
People are underestimating the work Bharat Arun is doing as bowling coach.Shastri needs to get credit for working with Arun.Shastri selections have been hit and miss but I don't think thinking was wrong except for Kuldeep for Lords. Its just different players thrive under different ways of coaching. Maybe Shastri simply waits for Kohli to fail in something before coming up with suggestions. Who knows maybe Kumble and Shastri were saying the same thing but the later simply frames it in a way Kohli is at ease. mancalledsting 1 Link to comment
rtmohanlal
Shastri the analyst, strategist & team selector is far from adequate as of now. But as a motivator and man manager he seems a very good fellow. Link to comment

GolGappe
Excellent! So heart-warming to see India maintaining such a healthy win-loss ratio even without a proper coach and cartoonish selections. Imagine what they will do with a proper coach and unmuddled selection process. mishra and Samcric 2 Link to comment
