Shami is second behind Bumrah

Shami has bowled well. However, recently I have observed buffoons like gattaca act as though Shami is better than Bumrah.

 

Let me put this clear. Shami is not in the same universe. Bumrah is miles better. Bumrah is a skill player, Shami a muscular player who is also quite skilled. However, Bumrah is a weapon of surgical destruction much more potent than Shami.

 

Bumrah is Bumrah. Shami is good, but nowhere near.

All of them are needed. It is a long WC and there should be a very liberal rotation policy.

With new ball in terms of picking wicket he is as good as bumrah if not better but biggest difference is death overs. Bumrah's action is big plus too for him.

 

Stats:

Shami's 78% wickets are Top & Middle order batsman.

Bumrah's 65% wickets are Top & Middle order batsman.

 

Shami never had luxury of playing with KulCha in past like bumrah had in many matches.

Will be great to see Bumrah and Shami bowl together. Both are out and out attacking bowlers, both can bowl well with the new ball now. They worked wonderfully together during the Tests, should easily replicate their combined success in ODIs as well.

I am one of the buffoons. I believe Shami is just as good as Bumrah. His seam positioning, his nasty bouncers are just as good as any in the business!

Bumrah is a great bowler, but SHami has been playing for over6-7 yrs now and still bowling 145+. I am going to give Bumrah 1.5 years more and then proclaim him as the best ever Indian fast bowler. He is almost there!
