maniac
4-5 years back he was talked about as the next big batting talent from India. As a keeper bat he was supposed to be next in line for Dhoni. However since he broke into the scene Rahul, Mayank,Nair,Pandey,Aggarwal,Shaw, Gill,Pant,Vihari,Shankar,Iyer have all superceeded him to get a run in the senior side. Pant and Kishan and even Bharat have moved into the next in line for the keeper-bat role with Pant being the front runner obviously. Is he even in the scheme of things or in discussion these days? Seems like he has really fallen off the radar. Must be really sucking in domestics. He is still an IPL mainstay like Uthappa and Pathan as he always seems to be retained by his franchises however he doesn’t even seem to be in the reckoning. Next u-19 WC and IPl will obviously throw in more prospects What’s the deal with him? @rkt.india @Mosher @express bowling @Suhaan Edited February 4, 2019 by maniac UrmiSinhaRay and Suhaan 1 1 Link to comment

sandeep
Sanju Samson has potential to be the next Rohit Sharma level player in ODIs for India. I think he can be that good. But he has had a bunch of injury issues, and has been very inconsistent in domestic cricket (not talking about IPL). At this point, I think he will have to compete as a specialist batsman, and that's a deep talent pool in India. He may end up another 'could have been' unless he drastically gets his mental game together and puts up a couple of solid years in FC cricket. maniac 1 Link to comment

bowl_out
Think he has attitude issues. I remember he had trouble with some state cricketing board and then his father had to step in to resolve. Sad to see wasted talent. He has to take domestics seriously if he is passionate about international comeback. Otherwise Pant and Kishan are easily front runners for the next decade Link to comment

All he does is play one or two good knocks in IPL and then the poor scores make his season inconsistent. This has been story of his IPL career. Also, the bowlers have found him out. They keep a backward square leg and bowl short to him. Falls to trap by giving catches there. He turned out to be another hyped player. UrmiSinhaRay and nevada 1 1 Link to comment

RD loves him more than he loves Nair.. Dravid retained him for RR ( when uncapped retentions were unheard of )and since then he has become ipl star.
