maniac
Kapil hands down. A guy who can open the bowling and can smack quality bowling at the death. No brainer. We are stuck with Bhuvi,Hardik,Jadeja and Shankar and you think Kapil will Not make it to the side. Yuvraj sure quality but if it is Kapil vs Yuvraj then it is a no brainer here Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Yup one of the best pressure situation bowler. Best "bulls eye" Indian fielder ever. He rarely missed the stumps as a fielder. He could field in slips, on the boundary, forward short leg. Pretty much anywhere. Link to comment
Gollum
Kohli of 4 years back, then we will have 2 Kohlis in the playing XI. The stupid number 3/4 spot discussion can be put to rest and Anushka will be confused as *. If they can win us the WC I will be happy, if 2 Kohlis fail to get the job done I will troll the Kohli fanboys mercilessly and bump the old Steve Smith threads. Link to comment

zen
In the current side, top 3 are well settled -> Rohit, Dhawan and Kohli Got some good players at 6 and 7 -> Pandya and Jadhav Dhoni would be there at #5 If I have to bring in someone from the past, it would be a young Sachin to bat at #4 Link to comment
Clarke
Some thoughts that came across: Zaheer from 2011 - would complete the bowling jigsaw, was a terrific bowler for us. Dravid from 99/03 - was highest run scorer in 99, willing to keep wickets in 03. Would settle the middle order if required. Dada - the one captain who could leave the washerman & his dog at the pond and focus on the best XI. Adi BB 1 Link to comment

Nikola
Maybe Gambhir for being clutch player in semi finals or finals? or yuvi at his peak. Cricketics 1 Link to comment
Chalks
Probably peak Hail the Yuviness (as we saw in 11 WC). Link to comment
Tendulkar1996
Yuvraj singh. And our middle order fixed, plus additional bowler. Link to comment
Jimmy Cliff
Dhoni circa 2005-06 to replace the current Dhoni. DHONI_FANN, bowl_out, philcric and 2 others 4 1 Link to comment
bowl_out
Yuvi.. to save this sorry a*s middle order.. Link to comment
neel roy
Yuvraj Singh for obvious reasons but if not I would go for Ajay Jadeja of 1996 or 99 ( scored a 100 against aus in losing cause). Insane finishing ability, good fielder. Good middle overs player. Could bat at 4 to 7 without any hassle. Edited February 9, 2019 by neel roy AuxiliA, velu and sergio04 1 2 Link to comment
Turning_track
Yuvi of 2011. Need someone from the middle order to be solid at the crease & roll over his arm at crucial times to break a partnership. DHONI_FANN 1 Link to comment
Pollack
Yuvi can actually make a place in Indian team in Wc19 if he has a dream IPL season. No 4 position issue fixed. Link to comment
sscomp32
Gambhir. Big match player. You rarely see that grit anymore. DHONI_FANN 1 Link to comment
Cricketics
Gambhir and Gambhir only. CAN open if needed, can bat at 1 down, 2 down, you name it. Someone mouthing off to him, he can get the momentum going by mouthing back in the courteous punjabi manner, and can get players around him also going. Calm under pressure twice in world cup finals. No CV/Resume needed. He’s the man. Link to comment
