My top 3 teams for WC

1. India

  • Top 3 batsman are best
  • best bowling attack - pace, spin, variety, consistency has it all . Infact part timer jadhav has also been a headache for Opp

2. England

  • Powerhouse batting lineup
  • Number of all rounders
  • Depth in batting

3. Pakistan

  • always does well in england
  • unpredictability
  • Subcontinent team have better nerves then overseas apart from australia  . Sarfraz as captain is good in those pressure games.

Team India has the best bench strength.

India A just walloped England Lions 4-1 this past month. Before that, India A whitewashed New Zealand A 3-0 in NZ.

How can you say that these teams have better bench strength than us?

I am not talking about potential for future. Shaw,Gill, Kishan,Aggarwal (ODIs) , Iyer, Saini etc etc are not bench strength yet.

we only have good backup for keeper-bats.

what if god forbid one or 2 of our fast bowlers or spinners get injured?

Who is our backup opener ready to take over? Don’t say Rahul.

its our bowling that is winning us games but it is only the 3-4 bowlers. Even if 2 of them are injured we are screwed.

Look at Nzl for example they have Boult,Southee,Henry,Ferguson,Milne,Mcleneghan and the 2-3 guys they tried recently.

England have stokes, woakes, willey, wood, archer, the other name that is skipping me the guy who hit a last ball 6 against Srilanka etc etc.

I am not saying they are better bowlers than the Indian attack, I already said India has the no.1 pace attack but I am talking about ready made backups.

India's fielding is not particularly good.

Virat, Hardik are top class.

Rohit, Shikhar, Karthik, Bhuvi are decent.

Rayudud, Jadhav, Shami, Bumrah, Kuldeep, Chahal are below average.

I'd imagine Eng, Aus, NZ, SA are better than us. Even WI, Pak, SL, Bang, Afg may be about the same level as us.

If the team wins the cup this time it will be because of its bowling.

i agree with you, top bowling side would win the WC this year

It's not just that. The captain has to make sure they bowl in tandem. Bowlers hunt in pairs like tiger cubs. Shami & Bumrah is the ideal opening pair. They bowl in the right areas, have pace that hurries up the batsmen and make batsmen play false shots.

Kuldeep and Chahal should be used well in the latter stages of the tournament when the summer is at its peak and helps in turn.
IMO, 40 overs from them is as good as 100s from opening bats.

Pandya and Jadhav can be used sparingly. Pandya must work on his line and lengths and must not give freebie wides. IMO, he is the weakness in the bowling unit as everyone else is far superior.

Out of the top 5 ODI teams since 2017 CT, only Indian bowlers have dismissed the entire opposition 20(21???) times. The remaining 4(SENA) teams have done a collective effort of 31or 32 times in the same time frame.

BOWLING is india's key. They make the job easy for our batsmen.

If the team wins the cup this time it will be because of its bowling.

1983, 2011, even 2013 CT we won mainly on the back of our bowling and not batting. Even though our bowlers may not have the same quality as others, they do well as a unit and have been tremendously clutch in our great triumphs. Even in 2015 WC our bowlers got all sides all out in the group stage, taking load from the batsmen...Umesh, Shami, Ashwin and Mohit were among the best bowlers on display. In SF that legend Smith took charge of the match when Warner was dismissed early and Finch was struggling.....more than blaming our bowlers we must appreciate Smith who scored one of the greatest ODI 100s of all time. Remove him and we would have dismissed them under 260. All the world cups I remember watching, if I have to grade the performance by Indian batsmen and bowlers....the latter would score higher in most WCs.

India main problem will be bowling of Bhubaneswar.

With Bumrah, Shami ,Kuldeep, Chahal bowling well, batsman will try to get the maximum runs from Bhubaneswar overs.

If Bumrah , Shami are not able to take wickets upfront , Bhubaneswar, Pandya jadhav bowling will be the weak link.
