Venky prasad was the most useless bowler ever to play for India apart from sohail wicket he hasn’t done much. I remember when McGrath bowled he got hit couple of times on his guard and his arm was broke in 2003 worldcup. Link to comment

ShoonyaSifar
When they scored less than 50 as openers Jayasurya 289 innings out of 383 innings, average 17, SR 78 . FAILED in 75% innings Gilchrist 190 innings out of 259 innings, average 19, SR 84, FAILED in 73% innings Sehwag 163 innings out of 212 innings, average 20, SR 93, FAILED in 77% innings Such a useless set of openers who failed in 3 out of 4 innings. Teams should have asked them to vacate their spots rather than letting them to play for so long Sachinism, Gollum, Ankit_sharma03 and 4 others 6 1 Link to comment

Those kind of knocks helped the team immensely. Openers of India, especially THAT useless opener from India have to learn so much from these legends (all of whom average 20-24 points lower than his average as an opener and 4-11 points higher average). Nikola
This op picks so many random stats to prove his point. I can make any great player look avg if i have to do by using random stats. Failed in this % of innings and that crap. Players are not going to make like 70%+ of 50+ scores in their odi career. Pratik77 1 Link to comment
Nikola
These swashbuckling openers like jayasurya bullied poor indian trundlers and avg spinners many times. They played like hack munro & guptill does in current era. Would stand no chance against current indian attack. Jayasurya: Sehwag: See sehwag's attacking cricket against Australia with avg of 21. That's what we need from our current openers. Quick fire 20s. Edited February 19, 2019 by Nikola Link to comment

Venky owned Pak in 2 WC matches when they had a very good batting line up, was tremendous in tests in RSA . He wasn't the most useless bowler to play for India, not among the best either, decent for our standards. In tests he has a number of 5 wicket hauls and even a 10 wicket haul in Durban.
