MBS playing his game. Iran won't be too happy about it.

India has been historically buddies with both Iran and Israel. They even had great relations with Saddam. He was our biggest oil supplier and still never had a falling out with the USA apart from maybe during the peak of cold war. Saudis have always had good relations with us too. Indian Diplomacy rocks.

Don't know if it is a good thing or a bad thing.

Anyways one hopeful thing is most of these will be co-ventures with Indian business conglomerates and not just straight up handouts.

its a paradigm shift.

Not clear what Saudi want from India, its more like an insurance policy - wonder what is the china - saudi angle. Since US -China friction is set to grow - Saudi want some kind of regional insurance against any fallout with US. Besides India is set to grow so their investments are assured of good returns - so its a win win for them.

The key thought now in Indian circles will be to stop Pakistan from delivering Afg and Iran or visibly show that they can not - only then they can stop US from again getting into a pay for use setup with pak and Pak with already evident China backing will continue to punch much above its weight.

Yes church and state should be separate. God should not get awards. Awards should be named after god.

Kohli has dethroned Tendulkar from the status of Popular God in the same manner how prominent Gods of Rigvedic era such as Indra , Varun and Agni were usurped by the Puranic trinity of Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma in the early centuries of Christian era.
