So how do you see this play out?

Recommended Posts

Any chance of limited war? Or will Pak take the safer route of propping up terror activities in Kashmir with more vigor? Will other powers get involved and put a stop to this at the earliest? Turbulent times ahead, Pak military has to at least make a show of response to save its reputation before the awam but our bases and vital positions must be defensively secure by now. They could be walking into our bait for all we know. But the borders may see a lot of action. Prayers for the boys, so many families will be having a sleepless night now.

Skirmishes along LOC.  They will verbally try to raise the stakes and draw in intervention and "international attention".  That's why they made such a big show of calling an NCA meeting.

Not much they can do other than sacrifice the lives of  few dozen Pakistani foot soldiers and their Indian counterparts.  Right now PakMil and their Puppet govt leaders are feeling a bit,  napunsak.  So they will want to do something, anything.  Its actually ongoing along the LOC right this minute.

Both countries are not cut out for war. Some drama here and there to  make themselves feel good .... many of those those proclaiming bravodos now will start talking about economics to back out of a tough situation ....  But I hope the situation eventually escalates. I also want these two countries to put their money where their mouth is

No wars please. Our main objective is to protect our army and people form terrorist attacks. Hence the surgical strikes and the recent air strikes on terrorist camps, no civilians were injured. An all out war should be totally avoided, it will not be good at all.

In 1971 when there was war there were blackouts. Alarms and transistor broadcasts do rounds when war starts. We trusted Pakistan then and we trust Pakistan even more now for their failure in all wars/conflicts against us.

Pakistan is at very bad state now than it was at that point of time. Nobody takes it seriously as it has accrued bad name by sponsoring and supporting terror.

This is going to be only on ground. Mostly at the border. Pakistan will not dare to hit any proper city. They do that and they are screwed. Any missiles fired by warplane will screw Pakistan as India will then use the provocation to breach LOC again and destroy lot more terror camps and even military bases of Pakistan. This isn't going to be a war. Pak seems too much afraid this time around. There is no fear factor. Probably because India is very strong now in all aspects.

Only risk is that small men occupying big offices in Pakistan may feel compelled to act as they feel they are "expected" to.  Out of a sense of hurt ego and national pride.

Is it just me or Imran Khan’s eyes have shrunk with stress

Usually world leaders get grey hair but mashallah Pakistanis and their love for hair care has ensured the thick crop of hair stays but has effect on his eyes.

Remember it's always the economics which dictates war and it's policies and with Pakistan begging atm , they can't afford it unless all the generals are in Jehadi mode with deep desire to reach jahannum asap.

Their generals are usually scotch drinking, ghazal loving liberals. They outsource the work to unemployed idiots and village idiots by dangling a carrot of wines and whores in after-life. I mean in a way it is  brilliant, don’t even have to  spend money on  a cheap diseased street walker or the $5 wine bottle with a foot label on it (don’t know what it’s called) to get the job done.

The more this escalates the more the international community will come down on India's side. The world cannot afford this to continue being a struggle between two equally aggrieved parties for there will be no end.

And Pakistan knows that quite well.  That's why the desperate attempts to get a few shots in at the LOC right now.  They can't afford not to have "done" anything.  They will have a revolt on their hands.  They can't afford to escalate to a full-on conflict forget war.  Running out of options.

This means hardening of positions, and in the short to medium term - more support for the likes of Jaish etc, to act as agents of revenge.

There are deep assets against our country. We have a large share of trailters, and pak have many sleeper cells here. So obvious, they will use their proxies to target us and they have a history of successfully doing it. So interesting times ahead...

Do you think we should escalate from our end? We can use their cross border attacks as a valid excuse and go full throttle, we have them by their balls atm.

Escalate for what objective?  Our goals are quite status quo.  Its not like we want to take over PoK anyway.  Current objective was punitive strikes.  Since PakMil has initiated cross-LOC conflict, the next goal would be to dominate the LOC with entrenched defense and brute firepower.  I'm pretty sure IA is working on that already.  We genuinely outgun PA along the LOC in war material, equipment and logistics.  At most, you could argue that we want to seize certain ridges or geographic features that are not populated, but even that tactical ground gain may not be worth the geo-political perception cost.  We are completely dominating that domain right now. This is not a small thing.  We just invaded a neighboring country and bombed them - AND the world is on our side. Pronounced Escalation would unnecessarily put that at risk - only worth it if we can achieve meaningful strategic objectives.

Besides, in such terrain, fighting defensively is a lot easier and costs less lives. Let the PakMil work out its rage and frustration by pissing into the wind, its not like they are going to be able to achieve anything.  If they want to send few of their young men in a wasteful exercise of Shahadat, sure.  We can make it happen.  Primary objective of IA should be to dominate and demonstrate the absolute futility of PakMil actions.

Pakistan cannot do anything big at the moment. I think, PakMil will hand off a small tactical brief case to these pigs who will try to use it in India and that will be end of pakistan. I dont see Bakis will let this go so easily. They are just bakis.
