A side that was indefeated for 9 T20 series has now lost two back to back series, all because Dhoni has to be accommodated to give him more game time. Team's interest be damned. As we saw with the Test team, youngsters will never prosper with Dhoni shamelessly hogging one spot. Poor Pant is forced to play as a specialist batsman which he has never ever done in his young career, impact is visible in his Test vs LOI performance. Give him the gloves and see him flourish as a batsman like he has in Tests (which shows he has the right temprament). From a keeper batsman to a specialist batsman, the transition is almost impossible that too for someone so young. If at all any keeper should play as a specialist batsman, it should be the 38 yr old and the not the 21 yr old whose future we seem to be hell bent on destroying. Link to comment
