They come in when its the easiest to score in the powerplay and we end up with 40-50 runs in PP. This is not the 90s where some little master used to bat with some opener whose name I could not bother to remember. This is era of Johnny Bairstow and JJ Roy Top 3 is basically only Kohli. Our openers contribution is against Pak in recent times who couldnt even beat Ban in Asia cup Edited March 2, 2019 by Real McCoy flamy, jusarrived, Gollum and 3 others 6 Link to comment

zen
It is a vicious cycle. The openers bat slowly, so MO has to get out of the blocks quickly. In trying to get out of the blocks quickly, they have to take chances, sacrificing consistency. The openers use the lack of consistency as an excuse to play even more slowly, always keeping the MO under pressure Edited March 2, 2019 by zen jusarrived 1 Link to comment

zen
Tuktuk Sharma has scored less than 50 in 6 out of 9 innings this yr.
