We keep hearing about the tuk tuk from MSD but what about Dhawan and Hitman. They come in when its the easiest to score in the powerplay and we end up with 40-50 runs in PP. This is not the 90s where some little master used to bat with some opener whose name I could not bother to remember. This is era of Johnny Bairstow and JJ Roy

Top 3 is basically only Kohli. Our openers contribution is against Pak in recent times who couldnt even beat Ban in Asia cup

Agree  .... In 2019, our openers are at the bottom

It is a vicious cycle. The openers bat slowly, so MO has to get out of the blocks quickly. In trying to get out of the blocks quickly, they have to take chances, sacrificing consistency. The openers use the lack of consistency as an excuse to play even more slowly, always keeping the MO under pressure

Didn't follow most matches but it seems openers' form has become a serious worry, those stats are indeed shocking @zen. At least Dhawan has the reputation of suddenly finding form in ICC tournaments, not the case with Rohit Sharma who is busy piling on the pounds.

That is something that I have been pointing out .... it is like expecting Mig 21s to down more advanced planes

Hitman is also fat. I saw him try to play a pull shot (which he missed) and as he swiveled, his paunch was protruding :phehe:

Tuktuk Sharma has scored less than 50 in 6 out of 9 innings this yr. For someone who does so much tuktuk, the consistency is appalling .... In trying to get to a 50, he digs a hole for Ind 66% (2/3rd) of the time

Kohli + MO has done better than the openers. In fact openers getting out early may have helped MO to score at manageable RR (vs having to dig Ind out of the hole and/or get out of the blocks quickly because of tuktuk early on)

score was subpar due to shami . we are winning due to bowling . we are the new pakistan

day bowlers have an off day or totals are par , u see middle order struggle

rayudu is a hack

put pant or karthick at that position and they too would have batted well

why wasnt shankar sent in today . it was perfect for him - nope he will be sent in difficult conditions or crazy tough chases
