A lot of deaths are due to clashes within different factions of religion. Sadly for people living in those countries, the already huge death toll is not the end. This is ongoing with increasing casualties. As you mentioned unless they stop fighting with each other and also unless they destroy terrorist in their countries this figure will increase further. This time it was hidden under a sack of potatoes which resulted in these deaths. This isn't normal behavior for sure.
