Rajasthani elegance Vs Punjabi swag

Royals who have the honour of being the first champions of IPL to take on the mercurial Punjabis

Both of these teams are blessed with elegant and explosive batsmen

It would be quite interesting to see the return of Smith after the famous sandpaper gate

Sarfraz in and Karun out. Strange decision.

He is on a downward spiral after that 300 isn’t he?

Must have gotten drunk and shown middle finger and abused COA, Rajiv Shukla, Kohli,Dhoni, Shastri,Rohit etc etc etc after that innings

damn that middle order looks weak on paper atleast.  pooran brings some firepower if he clicks down the order. mandeep has been in good form but looks out of place that low.  there's shami in bowling who has had poor IPL so far but has been in good form in other forms but still cannon fodder for the most part. rajpoot has been decent...looking for early breakthroughs from him.

death bowling is going to fun.  same old problem of middle order allrounders and pace bowilng.

but still

dil apna :kp:

Karun has been okay for KXIP last season. SR of 136. He did take the game deep in a few matches.

Sarfraz is absolute pits.

Yeah but how a guy who scored a test 300 just 2 years ago is so out of the scheme of things is beyond me.

Agree Sarfaraz fat Khan is as mediocre as they come, a watered down Yusuf Pathan at best.

Karun was never in contention for India in LOIs.

Tests - we mostly go with 5 batsmen only. He also lost his form after that 300. String of poor scores after that.

How many chances after that?

He was mediocre and I don’t rate him, I am just talking about justice where he should have atleast got a longer rope after a frickin 300 in a test match against a top 2-3 side

Importance of settling down a bit even in a T20 game  @zen .

There are no black and white concepts here. You have to play positively to put bad balls away and create opportunities as LOIs are time bound. It does not mean trying to hit every ball out of the park and disregard conditions .... Similarly settling down should not equate to playing dots after dots unnecessarily irrespective of the situation like what we saw with Rohit y’day. If you are getting out to a low score either way, getting out early gives someone else in your team a chance when you failed.  If people take a relatively long time to “settle”, they are not good for LOIs :dontknow:
