randomGuy
Latest Find jatt watt (caste) sh!t lame but that couldn't stop from listening in loop and sharing. Lyrics may literally be sh!t but what voices (both female and male) and what beat! Originality - nothing like any other culture. What a marvellous culture! I happen to teach in a Delhi Govt. school these days and in a area where there's substantial punjabi (mainly sikh) presence. The school has arnd 20-25% sikh kids, cute sardar kids complaining all the time 'sirji generator bol raha hai' ...(for some reason non-sikh kids call them 'generator' when they want to tease...its offensive but funny coming from little kids)...I can say its (music) in Punjabi blood because many of Punjabi kids are up for singing (same perfectly grasped punjabi tone and style) and up for shaking a leg in bhangra whenever you ask 'does anyone want to display their talent to the class?' or on annual days (full traditional attire and sticks etc. for dance) or other functions... Mariyam
Punjabis have music in their blood. Contrast that with us, we have blood in our music. Laaloo, Under_Score and randomGuy

PBN
all the good work that honey singh did was during his early days with the punjabi industry teaming up with the likes of diljit/gippy. gave quite a few hits. ever since he entered bollywood, he's rehashing old tunes and churning out mostly subpar music. he's first a music composer and that's his strong point...most people think all he does is rap but that's quite off the mark..just comes in to say a few words and make his presence felt

Tamil is the most versatile by some distance. Kuthu, blues, pop, rap, classical, gaana, synth rock you name it. They deliver. Looks like Rowdy baby is catching up. velu
