Wtf :wall:

In a way IPL exposes the favouritism in state cricket.

Hardly.

Vinay, Mithun and Ronit More are blocking his spot.

We have all heard about the criticism IPL faces. But it unearths talent unlike any other. Bumrah is a prime example. IPL is all about the money and the best players are played. Ranji is about who puckers up and kisses some fat rear end

Its a travesty that Prasidh cannot play the ranji trophy while vinny kumar and co thrive. Vinny was thrashed by Warner in a helpful pitch in Perth whereas Prasidh bowled with heart in a flat track against Stokes. How is this guy not playing in the state team and making it to the India side stumps me.

nobody claims here that IPL made these bowlers, but we are claiming that IPL helped us to discover them early ..

only you and your dear freind @rkt.india are not agreeing with us here :phehe:

I recommend cancelling the WC and play yearlong IPL just like they do in football and increase the number of teams to 20 or even 30. We have the population to watch these games. Outrageous idea? I don't think so. Just play test cricket if you have time :--D

we got to know about them because of IPL :whack:

We know about Prasidh since last 4 years.  He started playing IPL only last year.  Same with Bumrah.  I knew about him when he was playing for Gujarat, turning heads with his unusual action and searing yorkers at the age of 19 winning Gujarat the SMA trophy.

Bumrah Played for Gujarat at 19, played for India at 23-24 that too just T20s, played ODI by chance as we had a pacer injured. Also had played 4 years of FC cricket.  So he for sure was not fast tracked to Indian team.

IPL accelerated his tracking :aha:

Dhanta accelerated.  played IPL at 19, played for India 4 years after that.  Only actual IPL find till now has been Kamran Khan by RR who had never played any age group cricket but he was badly handled.  Boy had some serious talent.

Pat Cummins can knock out the top order or take wicket in bunches when in rhythm.

Prasidh has impressed with pace, brains and skills and death but we need wicket takers. Yes for LOI's Prasidh is a hot prospect but CUmmins is not just an enforcer, he is a well rounded bowler and not just now even when he debuted. Cummins was amazing with the new ball, you cannot put him in say a Wagner bracket of just a guy who hits the deck hard. He can swing the ball both ways and has every delivery in the arsenal.

Can't judge by T20 but neither Prasidh not Saini have bowled a defining spell yet. is there any such spells in domestics?

Instead of trying him at the international level over the last 2ish years, we have been going with retreads, so we won't know for a while. He bowled good yesterday, so let's hope he maintains that throughout the rest of the matches.

Prasidh has 50 wickets in 33 List A games.  YOU are judging Prasidh and Saini based on T20 on flat pitches and Cummins based on his test exploits.  Saini has several brilliant spells in domestic cricket.  but then bowling on dead Indian pitches and bowling on bouncy Australian pitches is completely different.

Nigga please, this guy is not even the size of Pat Cummins X ray.

If he was born in Australia, they would have been hyping him up to the sky, calling him the next best thing, next in the line of great express fast bowlers from Australia who bowls at 150 KPH.  Even if he bowled one ball at 150K, they will call him "a tall 6 foot 3 fast bowler who bowls 150."
