Zaheer at the top as he was the ultimate exponent of batting poetry in motion with his strokes like the touches of a painters brush.Inspite of such a high back lift he could send the best balls crashing to the boundary with the most delicate of touches.Best ever executor of the drive outside extra -cover.Azharuddin was another master of touch art and a genius on the legside whose shots had the vibrations of a musical symphony.Best every exponent of the leg glance and flick.Mushtaq Ali was the ultimate batting connoiseur who would devour or dissect an attack with the most velvety strokes. .Majid Khan took grace to heights of the divine. No batsmen hooked or pulled with such a silken touch.Vishwanath took batting artistry to regions never explored being the equivalent of magician. The best ever exponent of the square and late cut and had a unique shot of his own which was a combined flick, pull and hook shot.V.V.S.Laxman wa sthe equivalent of Vishwanath in his generation taking artistry to region sof the sublime. Roy Dias was simply elegance personified.Jayewardene possessed a characteristic sweetness in his strokes like the sound of a flute.Mohammad Yousuf in full flow was a sight to behold.Vijay Manjrekar was batting connoisseurs ultimate choice in his day.
