The game's most high-profile league and its most successful player came up against each other. Here was a chance to set a fitting precedent; in the end the league blinked. Karthik Krishnaswamy weighs in on the Dhoni incident in Jaipur

Muhammed Riyas: "Can't wait to see Hitman vs Archer!" ---- Rohit batted at the Wankhede nets on Friday and is set to return to captaining the side, after sitting out his first IPL game since 2008, with a muscle spasm in his right leg on Wednesday. This would necessitate Siddesh Lad make his way out two nights after his IPL debut. Expect Pollard to bat at No. 4 for a second straight match, says Annesha Ghosh. For more, read her preview here.

3.10pm How did Rajasthan Royals lose that game against Chennai Super Kings. How dare MS Dhoni storm into the field after being dismissed and remonstrate with the umpires. As it stands, they are just above Royal Challengers Bangalore on the points table and now run into the mighty Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede. A win for Mumbai this evening will see them leapfrog Kolkata Knight Riders to the second spot. I'm Deivarayan Muthu and I'll be joined by Alex Malcolm to bring you all the thrills and spills from game 27 of IPL 2019.

Pollard departs. Did not expect him to perform consistently but this inning was worse than expected

Cut some slack dude. He basically won the last 2 games. law of averages.

That is one good catch from Gopal. Chahal wouldn't even have fingered it.

Another reason why he should be in WC squad and Chahal shouldn't be.

Chahal would have not only dropped it but would have banged his back of his big head on the ground and start rubbing his head
