Pant slightly unlucky to not been given opportunities in ODIs in the last 1 year.

 

This should be our starting XI .. Changes should be made based on form and pitch.

I think the main issue is ...

 

We may have to play 3 specialist pacers in the playing 11 in England.   

 

And we have just 3 specialist pacers in our squad.  ( Australia have 5 in their squad )  Hardik is no specialist pacer as he has a high bowling average of 40 and high economy rate of 5.5.

 

If one of them is carrying a niggle then what  ?   Why not have 4 specialist pacers in England instead of so many backup batters and spinners.

• This is a tried and tested squad, with no surprise inclusions. Pant could have been included, but I think Virat as always wants to err on the side of experience rather than potential.
• Regarding Pant, I think its safe to say his exclusion wont make the headlines because he has shown certain shortcomings and TM might have thought his time will come eventually
• Picking only 3 out right seamers is a big risk, but the prospoect of pic,ing phoney Jadjea is too much for these guys and hence they have sacrificed a seamers's spot for that phoney Jadeja.
• Now that Shankar has been termed as the no. 4 for the WC, I hope Virat doesnt tinker with position throughout the WC. Shankar is a elegant and classy player, however, just like Pant this guy is work in progress but I want him to pleasantly surprise everyone with his ability.
• Wristy's might be Ind biggest strength in this WC but I see them being separated through the course of this WC for that phoney Jadeja.

All in all, a team on expected lines wherein selectors and TM have played safe.

I dont see Bhuvi getting picked ahead of  Shami and I definitely see Jadeja playing matches in this WC.

 

Overall rating of this team : Good, not WC winning material as I see lack of batting firepower to take the game away from opposition. Onus is on bowlers.

Reserve opener. Might get to bat at 4 if VS sucks. Think it's fairly certain Shankar is the 1st choice at no 4 for the start of the tournament.

Everything is working well for Dhoni here.. Power to call the shots on the field without having to answer any dirty questions off it. (and cheeku thinks he is smart ,fielding in the deep and fielding in PC) 

MSK Prasad is the man.. And I'm not sure who used whom. 

Karthik won't make it to the 11,but there was very chance that Pant would have made it.. He even got in Jadeja, biryani was far fetched though.. Talk of thug life :)
