Shankar may come in handy in 100 balls 100 runs type situation but selection of Jadeja and Karthik is complete joke. Idiot selectors have learnt nothing from CT debacle. Dhoni must have influenced the squad selection otherwise I see no reason selecting 3 spinners and back up keeper for the WC.

+ Chahar , Thakur and Kaul has not been discussed..... Super ++ Briyani kicked out....... Once Again kohli , shastri looked like chukiya...... played Briyani ahead of every one for entire one year touted him fix no 4 during nz tour and just after aus series kicked him out not that i am not happy , just  shows  once again that kohli and shastri words has no value and their plans and perception about an individual keep changes series after series and sometimes in a match also.

Assuming that we play 3 specialist pacers and 1 specialist spinner in England

We have

2 backup batters

2 backup keepers

2 backup spinners

0 backup pacers ... for the most injury prone class

Very good Point. These moronic selectors are so useless, no need for  all those extra baggage who have no value in DK and Jadeja .Saini should have been in the squad.

Now I like DK and think he has come into his own in the last few years but he has never banged down the door forcing his hand in any format.

Pant's ability to self-destruct is what made the case for DK stronger. I also don't remember a single ODI or T20I Pant has played a match-winning innings in and he isn't in particularly great form in IPL either.

I don't think Karthik should be playing ODI cricket in 2019 but right now he's a safer bet than Pant. Ideally, Ishan Kishan should have been in the mix this past year.

Why the * have they included The useless Jadeja ?

Selectors feel that he will come handy in the second part of the tourney when the wickets will be seemingly driar. BC ...there will be no second part for us if we lose everything in the early stages..:whack:

Shami and Even Bumrah are injury prone and now that they are selected should not play IPL at all. I like Kartik and Rahul and would play both. Shankar got in due to a good bowling skills and some batting skills. Not that impressed with him.

Biggest Relief - Biryani Man is out !!!!!!!

you think the WC squad is selected without Virat and Shastris consent ? lol

They must have given their consent but what are selectors doing ?? I don't think it is just Shastri and Kohli. These selectors have shown no forward thinking any time during their tenure.

Because they're not confident about the batting and they want a decent No. 8. Which would mean that they think Jadeja's contributions with the bat are useful.

I think they're going to start with 2 pacers and 2 spinners with Pandya as the all-rounder. Kuldeep being one of the spinners and the other being a toss-up between Chahal and Jadeja depending on what they trust more — Chahal's bowling or Jadeja's batting.
