Based on the little news in SL I follow the Christians and Muslims there get along fine, just like in India they are allies against the majority. They even held joint rallies recently against BBS and other Sinhalese RW groups. And LTTE is practically dead in the island nation, I am intrigued to know who is behind this attack. Won't be surprised if this is a false flag to defame the Tamil separatists, maybe to turn the majority against Northern Tamils in view of the ongoing constitutional crisis and upcoming war crimes probe.

I’m thinking that too. Christians have been spared from religious violence in Sri Lanka, except for some riots by the sinhalese RW. Such violence against them doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t fit the usual suspects. I suspect that we will have to wait for awhile before coming to conclusions. As you mentioned, internal politics of Sri lanka could also be reason for today’s attacks to show who is still top dog in the country.

Thats my big fear. With voting at TN done some of the opposition would be happy using it.

Damn, very surprising piece of news. What role did any Christian organization have in SL's past & present in any aspect that could lead to this, anyone knows ?

Terror truly has no borders.

1. LTTE has never attacked Christians. They have attacked Muslim civilians, some Hindus/Christians (rival Tamil factions/politicians/human shields, religion not a factor...just plain old politics/power struggle and wartime casualties) as well but never Christian civilians.

2. LTTE doesn't identify its struggle with religion. It is a secular militant group with motivation being language, ethnicity, nationalism, socialism. Many of the top leadership group are Christians, as are the cadre and sympathizers including TN based ones.

3. Swain is a swine.

SL army has bombed a few churches especially in the northern part, riots against Christians by Sinhalese Buddhist RW groups is common and increasing in frequency lately. No love lost between the majority and Christian minority. No group has claimed responsibility till now, let us not jump to conclusions. Some SL armed forces personnel on social media are already pointing fingers at LTTE, there could be a larger plot at play here.

A lot of Sri lankans blaming gotabaya rajapaksa on Twitter. They claim he’s trying to create chaos for upcoming elections and present himself as only candidate who can keep country safe. This is what happens when you allow military to have too much power with no civilian control

@Gollum

Not surprised. Swine regularly appears on Pak news shows and abuses India, Indian Army, GOI. Clearly working at the behest of certain groups with vested interests.

And someone tell the pig that politicians/churches based in his own country (Sweden?) too funded/helped LTTE... eg LTTE delegation completes Norway, Sweden visitsHopes from Scandinavia
