ShoonyaSifar
Jadhav hasn't bowled a single over so far in the IPL, Shankar has bowled 7 overs in 10 matches. Their IPL captains are not confident about their bowling but they are good enough to go to the WC as 3 dimensional players! Are we deluding ourselves or is that a way to ensure only those players who are liked by Kohli-Shastri (and Dhoni) get picked? With Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep struggling in IPL with the ball (Kuldeep am sure will do better when he is the national side), that leaves us with such a thin option in bowling. Link to comment
SK_IH
Jadhav specially will be a big liability in this WC. Link to comment
zen
Shankar implodes under pressure while batting, while it is pointless to give him a preference (over better batsmen) for his 2-3 overs in the context of a 100 overs game .... Jadhav can be useful as a hitter at #7. His bowling can work against some sides but his fielding is a liability .... Additionally, Rohit at the top is a NO GO .... that is 3 out of top 7 Top sides have very good to superb pace attacks, which these guys could find it difficult to handle .... Selectors-Shastri-Kohli-Rohit-Dhoni (TM) could have messed up here big time! Link to comment
kubrickian
Shankar is incredibly lucky to be selected for WC. Hasnt shown he has ability to play a long innings or even bat well under pressure. Can slog a few which even tail enders can manage. His bowling is below average. At the moment, one can only hope KL Rahul can find some form and do well for the team's sake. Link to comment
kubrickian
Jadhav has done quite well at 5 and I back Rohit, has a superb record in ODIs and on flat pitches. But No.4 will be a problem for India. Link to comment
Clarke
T20 vs ODIs. It's not like Shankar & Jadhav play as fifth bowler. Only Pandya does that and he does the job in IPL as well. Link to comment
cowboysfan
Shankar is a good prospect as a Batsman only, you cannot get away with bowling 120s in international cricket. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
I won't judge SHankar based on T20. HE is not a T20 player. He is a proper batsman who can hit once in a while. Not a slogger or power hitter. I will back Shankar to come good in the world cup as he can field well as well. He bowls accurately. He can handle most of the bowling attacks.
