Among Indian openers too since 83, when we won the world cup and became a force, he ranks at the bottom with 1980s type of performance level in 2010s:

Therefore, will Rohit turn the page vs major teams in this world cup or will he continue to fade away?

One lousy knock when match was over by all purposes does not make Hardik Pandya better than Rohit.Rohit is doing just fine leave him alone.Bangladesh qualified for ICC semis and Qtr final in last two ICC tournaments.

The thread is not about who is better or worse (an unnecessary use of strawman), but will rohit turn the page in this WC as in ICC events he has been extremely poor vs major teams (Aus, Eng, SA, WI, NZ and Pak) despite playing a large number of games relatively:

Are you kidding me, how are centuries against Bangladesh in Qtrfinals and Semi final not important.Rohit is just fine and is better every other Indian batsmen bar Kohli and Dhawan.

His record does not correspond to that. Note even Kenya made it to SF. No one in his right frame of mind will cite two innings against a minor team in a sample size of 13, the most number of games Ind played in the period .... Need to keep fanboyism out

No one is their right frame count out knocks in semi finals and qtr finals to show some stupid stats which have zero relevance. Rohit Sharma has scored second most runs in ICC tournaments since 2013. Stop nitpicking , he is doing just fine.

If you want others to take you seriously, you need to learn a few things:

  • 1st: an avg of 28 at a SR of 73 vs 6 major sides is poor
  • 2nd: in one of your posts, you termed an inning by Pandya as useless (even when this thread is not on that), while you are claiming the importance of inning vs BD, a team which Ind is expected to be overwhelming favorites against

Sorry, but run away!

Would have lost badly to Bangladesh in 2015 quarter final without rohit's knock. Op include England to filter list who themselves have lost twice in last 2 world cup against Bangladesh. It's just clear you are trying to include teams which he failed against.

Fanboyism at its best .... 8 teams are listed and you are worried about BD :hysterical:

You have to run, stop posting nonsenical posts. SR for 13 matches in six years is not poor. Rohit is doing fine stop posting nonsense.

Rohit is one of the best odi batsman in world and just because you post some nonsense  he does not become bad one.

Only Australia deserves to be included in the filter list and i will do that for you.

If you are including England, Chokers, New Zealand then give me reason why? all are pretty avg teams in icc tournaments. If you include england in your filters then include bangladesh too cause they have beaten them twice in last 2 worldcups and made to worldcup quarterfinal which england didn't manage to do it.

I will be worried if he scores as we tend to lose more than win . Against good teams he will either screw us badly by batting selfishly or getting out cheaply . So the answer is No

even when he scores 75+ innings, his SR was still poor

^^^Either you are slow or you have no clue about the game. I don't have to dream, Rohit is and has been one of the best LOI batsmen in last 6 years. He is better than all the nonsense you posted. He will be one of the key batsman for India again in this world cup .

We are talking about ICC events, where Rohit has yet to perform like a key batsman vs major teams.  Not some random bilaterals, if you claim to know the difference

If Rohit does well, I will be happy. But appears as if even his fanboys do not have that confidence
