IPL 2019 | Match 52 | KXIP vs KKR | Mohali | May 3rd @ 8 PM IST

Recommended Posts

  • If Knight Riders lose on Friday, even by a slim margin of, say, five runs, they will have to win their last game - away, against Mumbai Indians - by about 75 runs and hope that Sunrisers lose to Royal Challengers Bangalore by around the same margin, to squeeze past Sunrisers on NRR (The sum of the margins needs to be around 150, so if Sunrisers lose by 50, Knight Riders will have to win by 100.)

  • For Kings XI, the margins are even more improbable: if they lose by five runs, then the sum of the margins will need to be around 240 for them to go through. That is, if Kings XI beat Chennai Super Kings by 100 runs :cantstop:  in their last game, they will need Sunrisers to lose to Royal Challengers by 140 runs.
This means it's more than likely that it's the end of the road for whoever loses Friday's game.

why are they playing Rinku Singh, could easily another bowler

Background promotion of certain players. There are certain bizzarre moves that defy cricketing logic always happens with KKR. Last year Vinay Kumar bowled 2 of the last overs gave identical runs. ALso first over. Nothing in between. External influence play a big role in KKR selections.

Rahul and esp Gayle love this ground. Need to make it count.

I'm a bit conflicted about this match...might as well lose this instead of keeping the hope of fans alive for the next match. Tbh, it's the least interested IPL with the WC around the corner.  I'm indifferent about the results

i was surprised by the scouts of the IPL teams.  no one had picked warrier or prasidh krishna and few others in the auctions. both got chance due to injuries

Rinku keeps appearing in their Promo stuff.

Wish Lynn had dropped the catch. What is with talking while they are on the field. He was in an active conversation with commies when the catch came to him.

i wonder if they get extra bucks being wired up?

Warrier has economy rate of 7.10 in 42 matches. That is impressive. And he takes a little over wicket per match. Yeah you want your strike bowler to pick up more wickets but impressive nonetheless

And he gets Gayle now

rinku hasn't gotten any opportunities to bat. comes in and plays 2-3 deliveries.  he has decent stats in domestics.

Don't disagree. More than a decent stat. 71 first class 43 List A. But they don't need batsmen. They need bowlers given that they are the worst wicket-taking unit in IPL 2019.
