Seen a few of the popular movies and tv shows.

Movies: Fabricated City, Tunnel , Confession of Murder, Train to Busan, The Wailing

Of these enjoyed Fabricated City and Tunnel. Train to Busan was alright..maybe overhyped or was expecting too much given the hype or that I don't like zombie movies much.  The Wailing was a crazy one :fear1:

Mine as well. In fact it's my favorite movie of all time. The ending here was really apt just like Zodiac. Big fan of The Host as well.

not a big fan of oldboy .. :((

john wick 3 guys credited this korean film ( bike chase scene ) ..  action scenes looks cool and better than our big budget movie scenes ( shaky camera though , but not with multiple cuts like taken ) ..

action looks cool .. watched only the action scenes in youtube , yet to watch the movie ( might fast forward and watch )

@Jimmy Cliff @velu have you guys seen Snowpiercer starring Chris Evans (captain America guy). I thought it was a Hollywood movie but apparently it is a Korean production. One of the best action movies I have seen :hatsoff:.These Korean guys can make a good movie

I was surprised why it didn’t become a huge hit here in the US with big stars Ike Chris Evans and the lady who played there monk in Dr.Strange

Yeah seen it. It's made by the same director (Bong Joon ho) who's made Parasite. It's a decent dystopian thriller but I thought the concept was probably better than the actual movie. It didn't get a proper release in the US as Harvey Weinstein couldn't agree with the director on the final cut.

You should check out Bong's Korean movies as they are much better than Snowpiercer and Okja.

@Vijy bhai, your views on Bong as a director?

top director. I rate his Korean movies higher (e.g., memories of murder) than his int'l productions like Okja and Snowpiercer. bong is also excellent (and underrated) at infusing his films with doses of black humour.

Overall, I rate him one of the finest korean directors ever along with usual suspects like park and kim.

Song Kang Ho is different from Big B in the sense that he rarely does bad movies :p:. Glad to know you liked Bong's films. The dude is just the best. Some movies that I'd recommend in no particular order.

High and Low
My Neighbour Totoro
Sympathy for Mr.  Vengeance
Infernal Affairs Part I
Mother (directed by Bong)
Vengeance is Mine
Perfect Blue
Paprika

Grave of the Fireflies

Only Yesterday

Anything on Netflix or Amazon worth watching?

I know they have multiple Korean  movies on there but don’t want to watch any altu faltu Korean movie.

Unfortunately the GOAT Korean film Memories of Murder seems to have been removed from Amazon Prime in the U.S. I have heard good things about this series on Netflix.

watch more of Bong IMO. nearly all of his movies are good to great. Okja is lovely but perhaps the "weakest" (in a relative sense) of Bong-ji's movies.

I love Ghibli, so I am obviously a sucker for their movies. You may like some of Miyazaki's other films.

Saw Parasite yesterday. Here is my take, it’s one of those movies like for example Life of Pi. I am not comparing it to Life of PI but let me explain.

Everyone raves about the movie and then you are really excited to watch it and then when you finish watching it you are like ok it was a good movie but is that it? Then you go online and read the subtle message the movie is conveying, Fan theories, Explanations etc and then you have a renewed perspective of what you just watched.

Life of PI, US are the other 2 examples. Get out I kind of understood the message being delivered while even watching the movie

Parasite belongs to this list too, gets better with 2nd viewing once you kind of read the hidden meanings, perspectives and theories out there

It got the Best International Film award too :aha:.
This time around I guess "Best foreign film" category was redundant since one of them was already nominated in the main category.

It would have been silly and illogical to give it to any other movie.

What a movie, its been 3 days that i watched it, but the movie is still reverberating on me, how can someone pull you in and make you a part of the narrative with such finesse. Bong Joon, My man, a living legend . Watching this movie was like popping an acid, it takes you to places that you have never been before.
