zen
could mean: Captain winning the toss making decision based on the forecast, which could translate to bowling first Team selections could be geared towards batting (adding depth where possible) The shortened games could give more advantage to teams such as WI, SA, and NZ, who play multi-talented cricketers in their lineup, along with the batting heavy Eng Spin-dependent teams could suffer due to relatively wet ball An upset vs. a minnow could severely dent a team's chances if it gets into a situation where its comeback plans could be thwarted by rain. If a game vs. a minnow is washed out, the team expected to win is in a double whammy esp. if the team it is competing for points goes on to win vs. the minnow Edited May 26, 2019 by zen Link to comment
maniac
Rain is going to benefit maverick teams like Pak,Wi and even Bangladesh. These are 3 teams at a same level so if one of them have a good run against the other 2 and beat teams like Afghan and Srilanka as expected without any stumbles all it takes is one washed out game against a big side. On top of that have to look to get points vs. a couple of major teams, who are expected to get points vs. AFG/SL as well unless these games are upset/impacted by rain Ideally, you would need 5 wins (10-11 points) with favourable NRR or NRs (with most teams expected to beat the lower ranked sides) to have a chance of squeezing in the last 4 Edited May 26, 2019 by zen Link to comment
