vvvslaxman
Only one team that can afford to go after bowling from both the ends irrespective of the conditions is England. West Indies can do some extent. Others don't have the luxury. Even Australia. Even without pitch conditions India does have to play sensible because our middle order can go either way. We have zero depth down the order. So we simply cannot afford to lose 6 wickets by 40th over. That means wimpy finish to the innings. In the last 10 overs team can score 120,130,140 runs. It depends on how many wickets you have. In the first 10 you don't see teams scoring that many runs. At most 70 to 80 runs? They have started analyzing 5 blocks of each innings for each innings. Today Afghanistan staged sort of a come back in the third block scoring 58 runs for the last 1 wicket. It is fairly obvious, scoring faster against Stoinis, Coulternile, zampa outside power play is easier than scoring faster against Cummins, Starc inside power play. You weigh the odds and target the bowling. Out of nowhere today Afghanistan took a 22 run over and 21 run over. RIght in the mdidle of the innings. sergio04 1 Link to comment
