ICC World cup - weather watch

Recommended Posts

The weather in Britain is not looking great this week. Below are the matches that will be impacted by rain:

Heavy Rain Expected (Potential Washouts):

  • Pak vs SL (Bristol) - Friday 7th June

Moderate Rain Expected (Chances of curtailed games):

  • Aust vs WI (Trent Bridge) - Thursday 6th June
  • Eng vs BD (Cardiff) - Saturday 8th June
  • Afg vs NZ (Taunton) - Saturday 8th June
  • Ind vs Aust (London) - Sunday 9th June

I will update weather on a weekly basis.

Its pathetic that you have almost 50 day World Cup tournament with gaps of 4-5 days between games for a team at times, but couldn't also think about having a 2nd crack at a game incase it rains on the scheduled day.  Two games already washed out and its just 10 days into the tournament.

BD vs SL (Bristol - 11th June) - Periodic rain with strong breeze. Should get a curtailed game, can be a washout too.

Aust vs Pak (Taunton - 12 June) - Heavy rain expected and a potential washout.

Ind vs NZ (Nottingham - 13 June) - Rain expected but we should get a short game.

Eng vs WI (Southampton - 14 June) - Sunny with light clouds...full game expected.

Aust vs SL (London - 15 June) - Sunny with light clouds...full game expected.

SA vs Afg (Cardiff - 15 June) - Very light chances of rain, mostly cloudy but should get a full game.

If most of it comes true, you might be given the honorary doctorate of Meteorology from ICF soon next week. However, if India/Pak manages to get rained out, be ready for ICFers to make life hell for you :)

Heavy thunderstorms in the UK all week

Going to be a washout in WC this week

Should have been playing 2-3 games a day, providing reserve day for all matches

It was obvious May-June is rainy season in UK

Women's football.world.cup already making more headlines than this stop/start cricket WC

Only because it has the magic word with the SJW British media. For some reason I don't mind women's tennis but I find women's football, rugby and cricket unwatchable as it seems amateurish and slow. If that makes me sexist so be it.

Rain is unfortunate but Eng is the best place to play cricket. No better sight in the world than a cricket match in Eng on a bright sunny day.

That’s why cricket should be played in more countries. No countries other then Australia, India and England are feasible to host WC. If cricket was popular in developed countries like US, Canada, Japan etc we could have had tournaments in those countries

India game on Thursday looks like a washout now. However, weather in Britain is changing for better starting friday.

Just looked at the BBC forecast for Sunday's game against padosis. The streak is all set to end. :hitler:

Yellow warning of rain forecasted for thursday in Nottingham.

There wont be any Ind vs NZ game. Our next game (hopefully) is against Pakistan on Sunday :nice:

Pakistan game will start but rain later so no result. Unless you bowl first and bowl them out for- 200 in less than 30 overs

As per the weather forecast, rain is likely to subside by lunch time on Thursday which means at least a possibility of a curtailed game remains

Heavy rain threatens to play spoilsport when India face New Zealand in their next World Cup game at Trent Bridge on Thursday.

If the weather holds good after lunch ,why nit straight away make it a D/N game and announce it on media !

I know there are implications but for the good of the game ,its better to have a game !
