Spotlight on Rohit, Kohli, and Dhoni (WC19)

With Dhawan, Ind's best batsman in ICC events, out of the tournament, the spotlights shifts to Rohit, Kohli, and Dhoni to perform. All 3 have had decent knocks whether in the round robin games or warm-ups so the question of being out of form does not arise.

  • Rohit will need to not only provide brisk starts depending upon conditions (and w/ KL still settling in) but also play big knocks (which is not mutually exclusive)
  • Kohli will need to continue to anchor one end up, rotate the strike, and get bad balls away. Then can go into the destructive mode as well when required
  • Dhoni can put his hand up for the #4 slot, where his "experience" can be useful

Dhoni has to step up, he cannot be a liability in a two man batting lineup

As he is expected to play in every game, Dhoni should be slotted at #4. Anything lower, there is a risk of momentum being sucked out of the Ind inning :dontknow:
