Who says our middle n lower order is worse....Look at australia

Recommended Posts

We struggled on a slow damp wkt against a high quality spin attack and mind u we have lost one of our gun player dhawan

Look at Aus- Got a gr8 start against Eng on a patta wkt and now look at them .........Any team wud like to face england bowlers on patta then Afghanistan spinners on a slow damp wkt

It is satisfying to see Australia also struggle like us :--D Warner and Finch are in amazing form but they are due for failures as the law of averages catches up. Maybe they can drop Stoinis for NCN.

It's all perception. Many on here probably believe Stoinis is better than Jadhav. But the former has done nothing time and again yet our very own has performed quite admirably in limited chances.

In our minds we see Cummins and Starc on paper and automatically think they have batting depth but in reality in the crunch situations are they any better than a Bhuvi or Kuldeep. I doubt.

Their middle order (4-7) has:

Smith >>>>> any of our no. 4 options

Maxwell = Pandya

Carey > current version of Dhoni

With only Stoinis as the weak link. I'd still much rather have their middle-order than ours.

yet when we got the start we put 330 n 350 on board.  Aus today after having a start went nowere.......

Pandya has done better then Maxwell this WC

England failed miserably, should restrained from playing gungho, 285 was easy target

Aus batting is weak, get past Warner and Finch and they will struggle, Maxwell is a 10 ball wonder

Smith and Khawaja are like Rahane, ok to go at 100 SR, soon as they accelerate they get out

They struggled to chase some 230 against Lanka with batting till 10 that was worse

Even someone like finch is not helping as he is not making a daddy hundred which is what rohit did against Pak

No they are better then rahane.....they can score in middle overs and doesnt play high % of dot balls

Smith shud bat at 3........best 3 shud get max number of balls

Aussies have been putting up 300+ fairly regularly too. If they had an off day today, they also performed an incredible rescue act against WI. Do you see our middle-order/tail getting us from 80/5 to nearly 290 against any side let alone WI?

Pandya and Maxwell have both been performing a similar role in this WC.

Maxwell has 142 runs at 28+ with a SR of above 200.

Pandya has 96 runs at 32 with a SR of 150.

I'd have them on par at best. Don't see how Pandya is ahead.

Smith has been consistent, Carey and Maxwell have been quite good, Carey doing well almost every time and Maxwell playing his role of scoring quickfire 20s and 30s to perfection. Stoinis has been the real underperformed.

Also, if you think yday’s pitch was a flat one, watch the match again. English pacers bowled very poorly. Aus showed it was a balanced wicket.

If not for Bhuvis 2 wicket over, Australia could have easily chased down the target against us. This is a no brainer that Aussies have a better middle order because they have Steve Smith. Lower order is debatable but they would still trump because both starc and cummins can bat. Also On current form Carey is better than Daddu.
