The selection for this tournament was really a clusterfucck.   Think about it - Karthik was in the team as the experienced 'spare tyre' 'keeper-batsman, in case greybeard got injured.  Then we end up replacing our ODI opener, with a wicketkeeper.  Who ends up batting #4 to replace Mr. 3D 'good technique'.   And then somehow DK gets back into the XI, as a lower order power hitter after Jadhav appears to be out of prime form.

If we really wanted a lower order power hitter, we should have gone with a guy like Krunal or Nitish Rana, who could bowl a few handy overs, and give you that lower order thump.  If we wanted a #4 batsman with reliable technique who could be solid, then surely there were better options than rookie Vijay Shankar - no disrespect to his batting potential.  And if Pant was the guy the team trusted ahead of Karthik with both bat and gloves, why the * was DK in the squad in the first place.

It was muddled *ing thinking all across the board.  Trying to be "3 dimensional" for the sake of it.

And then there are people who work their @$$es day in and day out and make almost nothing ,then you have these guys who get paid in billions for their role play

I feel he is just a puppet stooge for some powerful, behind the scenes cartel. So much money is at stake with Indian cricket that the people who stand to gain the most will do anything to ensure the money flow keeps on coming.
