SecondSlip
Former India batsman and seasoned coach Pravin Amre has thrown his hat in the ring for the position of India's batting coach. The position could be up for grabs with stories emanating from the Indian dressing room that the current coach Sanjay Bangar hasn't delivered the results expected of him. Bangar has been working with the batting unit for the past five years and has worked under both Ravi Shastri and Anil Kumble. He is also the assistant coach of the side. India's middle-order failure during the Cricket World Cup is being attributed to Bangar's inability to develop more batting options. However there are those as well who believe Bangar should be judged on his tactical and technical expertise and it's the selectors and captain-coach who should take the blame for the soft middle order. Amre like Bangar has a modest international record as a player but has built a rich coaching resume. He has been a regular on the IPL coaching circuit and was the scouting head of Delhi Capitals last season where he worked closely with Ricky Ponting and Sourav Ganguly. Amre who comes from the Ramakant Achrekar school of cricket has regularly been working on a one-on-one basis with Indian Test vice captain Ajinkya Rahane. Other India players like Suresh Raina, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik, Robin Uthappa have also engaged with Amre's customised batting coaching lessons. Amre is currently working as a batting advisor to USA cricket and may have to give an undertaking of not being employed anywhere else if given the job. Support staff applicants along with head coach applications have been invited till 30th of July. The BCCI COA have said that as per the new constitution, the support staff appointments will be made by the selection committee. https://www.indiatoday.in/sports/cricket/story/pravin-amre-applies-for-position-of-team-india-s-batting-coach-1574630-2019-07-29 beetle 1 Link to comment

mani sha
Amre like Bangar? Amre was awesome as a batsman and missed out as the Fab Four rose just abt then ... amre also has a better record in one dayers and could hit sixes well . Will help our power game and test cricket for sure . Bangar has a better defensive swing technique but not a better attacking technique Link to comment

Umesh Yadav was coached to bowl 150 by Subroto Banerjee who never bowled that speed. Bharat Arun was a medium pacer and our pacers are bowling their fastest under him. Ankit_sharma03 and express bowling 2 Link to comment

But as a coach, he is way different. Link to comment
coffee_rules
Amre lost out to other Mumbai bats than fab4. Kambli, Manjrekar and Tenduljar. Azhar as well. He was one Mumbaikar I liked. Would be good to have a real batsman as coach. Link to comment
