For cricket's sake, we need to stop playing series against WI and SL

Watching these ODI and T20 series is like watching paint dry. So boring and pointless, without any passion or enthusiasm. Its just a waste of time for everyone involved. 

 

At least make the pitches bouncy and helpful for bowlers, so it will be a challenge for batsmen to score runs. These slow pitches and dull crowds and passionless teams are slowly killing cricket.

No we dont need to stop playing them instead players like kohli shud take rest from it rather boosting personal stats........kohli playing 6 games didnt gain anything apart from a youngtser loosing 6 chances. Kohli keeps playing n winning us these games....does let come these youngsters under pressure situations .

Not sure About SL given that they beat SA in SA in a test series. But I do agree with the essence of the post and think that tours like these should be used to give chances to newer players. We can't have well established superstar players hogging a spot in every single game and embellishing their records.

Kohli cares too much about winning these useless ODIs and T20s or maybe he looks at these tours as an opportunity to score some easy wins/runs. There's absolutely no reason to play your first choice team here, unless these guys are scared of losing their places. Selecting Kedhar Jadhav who has the worst fitness in the side and is close to 35 has to be the stupidest decision ever but not entirely unexpected from TM who have failed to find a decent No.4 or 5 in all these years.

this is why they ll get a phainta again on World tournament, its not just about having a poor day but brushing problem on other days that comes back to haunt us on that one day

We play series against WI and SL at the time of year when no other team is available. We don't play them during our peak season.

We and other big teams need to play some series against WI and SL to keep cricket alive in these countries.  As it is, there are so few countries playing competitive cricket ... we don't want that number to go down.  Zimbabwe is gone already.

 

What should be done is ... play during free periods ( being done )

 

... and play lots of young players for grooming purposes in LOIs.  Not being done.  (  I can understand full strength team in tests as it is part of the Test Championship )

--  Both Rohit and Dhawan opened together in all ODIs. Why not Mayank. ?

--  Both Bhuvi and Shami played all ODIs and Saini does not get a single ODI.

--  Kedar Jadhav is playing

--  Shubman Gill is not getting a chance.

--  Avesh Khan is not being tried.

Add: Rat is "captaining" and Bewda is "coaching" to that list. rahul chahar and gopal should have been playing as well. latter will become a gun player for us in ODIs and T20s if properly groomed. fields and bats far better than chahal, and I believe that he can do just as good a job as chahal with the ball too.
